Was just watching him in Police Academy 2 on CC earlier. He was a little before my time, but all the same R.I.P.

Re: Bubba Smith dies at 66
RIP. I remember when I was a kid watching ABC on Friday nights (before it became popular with TGIF). And I had no idea with Webster followed by Blue Thunder I was watching three of the NFL's greatest players in Alex Karras, Bubba Smith, and Dick Butkus

Bubba Smith was from my hometown in Texas. He was a standout player on a very good team at a predominantly black high school there. I remember my Dad taking me to high school games and on a few occasions we saw Bubba play high school ball.
He was a special player at a great time in pro football. Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk |

Re: Bubba Smith dies at 66
Yeah, know I am "dating" myself...but keep in mind I was very young and was at those games solely because my brother was playing against Smiths High School team. But I remember my Dad pointing Smith out on the field and telling me to "watch this guy" he's good!

Re: Bubba Smith dies at 66
Bubba Smith was one of my all-time favorite players. The dude was huge compared to other players along that time. Seemed like a great guy. RIP "Bubba".
