Re: Shanahan compares Locker to Plummer
Hmmm... Savvy smokescreen, honest evaluation to the media, or both?

Surprised he didn't compare him to Elway.

Re: Shanahan compares Locker to Plummer
I don't at all see the comparison to Ryan Leaf unless you are just stating that you think he'll be a bust. That's a fair opinion, but he in no way behaves the way Leaf did. From all accounts thus far, it appears that Locker is pretty coachable so if he fails, it won't be due to a lack of heart or being a total douche like Leaf was.

Re: Shanahan compares Locker to Plummer
ive thought all along that locker is a new jake plummer, which is also why i thought shannahan probably liked him a lot. i wouldnt be shocked at all if locker was a redskin, but i would be surprised if we took him at 10. watch us trade back into the 1st round to grab him.

Re: Shanahan compares Locker to Plummer
Last time I checked we don't have the first overall pick. And I hope the team is smart enough to not draft him with the #10 pick.

The team is already a loser...

Re: Shanahan compares Locker to Plummer
I think what Shanny is saying, is this ...Locker is 2nd round talent, just like the Snake.

Re: Shanahan compares Locker to Plummer
I'm betting his comments were a savvy smokescreen. I really think Locker will be in a Skins uniform come next season. I bet we trade back, gather picks, and select Locker (presumably before Seattle).

Re: Shanahan compares Locker to Plummer
Every time I have watched the guy play, he just doesn't deliver. I am sorry, but I do not see any upside about Jake Locker. He runs well, big deal. Vick ran great in Atlanta and he won jack. They get rid of Vick and bring in Ryan, more of a pure passer, and they make the playoffs. Everyone wants a mobile QB, but not necessarily a running one. Give me Steve Young in his prime over Vick anyday.
