brandon banks injured at dc nightclub

details seem to just be coming out, but it sounds like bb and a friend got into an argument with another man (who is now in custody). apparently the argument escalated and bb and his friend were both stabbed. bb has been released from the hospital but his friend remains in the hospital. from all the reports it seems that bb's wounds are all superficial.

Man, I hope Banks will be okay soon.. Nightclubs appear to be the WORST place for NFL players to hang out at.. All NFL teams should add "not allowed to attend to nightclubs" term in contract forms to end all this ridiculous incidents.

it's a sticky situation, because these are grown men and the have the right to do what they want on their own time, but in this day and age there are a whole lot of dangers for these athletes to be catious of including but not limited to underage girls, fame seekers, paternity seekers and just plain old haters. i do agree that the nfl needs to step in and do something but i think it should be more along the lines of educating these young players more on how to protect themselves. the majority of these players have never seen this much money in their life and might not realize that going to a club and paying for everyones drinks may attract the wrong attention to you.

OMG-That is unreal. Who would want to stab Banks? I was Banks' size/weight in middle school. Whats wrong with scrapping with fists?
Maybe this is why Portis had the stripper pole at his house- too avoid the certain elements that lead to disaster.
Lets have BBanks run back a few KR/PR for a TD and lets reward him with the big money to build the club in his mansion.
I wish him a speedy recovery.

The problem is so many recreational activities are banned by pro team sports, that the only type of recreation they can do is go to clubs. I guess the NFL is ok with the athletes damaging their organs as long as it doesn't involve rock climbing, jet skiing, surfing, snow boarding etc

Nothing good ever happens after midnight. I know these guys are grown men, but they should stay away from clubs.

No questions that it is very sticky situation.. However, incidents at nightclubs have happened frequently.. Thus, it would make sense to do something to prevent it? But again, like someone in this thread said that many sports don't allow their players to participate in activities that could cause injuries, which really limit players' choices of activities.

I understand it would not be fair to limit players from activities, heck I would be totally pissed if my boss do that to me. But, it is part of being professional player, I believe. Professional players are role model for many people - they should do their best to be one. It is not like we would be banning players from participating in 'dangerous' activities forever, but only length of their career.

He's fine. His wounds were "superficial" and he was only at the hospital a few hours from what I read.

Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub

It is not a problem being out late and being in night clubs or other type clubs (cough)!
The real skill players and people need to develop is turning the other cheek and walking away from a drunk idiot that is trying to start trouble. Do you really care what a drunk idiot has to say or thinks? Is it worth trying to change their mind about soemthing? Or do you just want to kick their ass? Which is an even bigger problem. Nothing to gain and too much to lose.
As Mr Dan Snyder is teaching us the hard way, your street cred and ego are not worth going to jail, hospital or dieing for.

Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub

I agree with whoever it was in here that said players should not be allowed in nightclubs per their contract agreement.

This, in my opinion is a no brainer. NFL Clubs should ban players from being in nightclubs. Nothing good ever happens there. Why can't people understand that?

Its just another thing in the NFL that needs changed. Nightclubs represent the bad part of society, the criminal element and all that, that the NFL is trying to distance itself from.

Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub

It's not the Night Clubs that present the problem, it's the lack of maturity on the part of many of these young men in not knowing how to avoid confrontation with others. Minor incidents escalate into major ones when the parties involved don't understand the importance of walking away.

Banks is just one season removed from the Rookie Symposium where players are drilled repeatedly about the pitfalls of social engagement, about how they should conduct themselves in situations like this. The problem is, some guys just never learn regardless of how much good advice they receive from those that have been there.

Nothing good happens after midnight. If you can't find something to smash during the day, get a DVD and some paper towels.

I can't imagine why someone would have to pull a weapon on BB. Maybe his friend is huge or something. B#tch move IMO.
