7 Years 67Million 22Mil signing bonus.

Wow - I didn't think the Colts had this type of cash to pay him. I understand it's backloaded, but 22M signing bonus is BIG. I wonder if they can still keep edge.

My question is - do they have any players you think we'll have the ability to poach? Marcus Washington was a great pickup. I doubt they'll let Freeney go, but maybe we could get one of their starting CBs (not Harper, but the other one) for a backup since I feel we need more depth at DB the way Williams likes to run things. Maybe Oline too.

Don't think we need to poach anymore of their defensive players. Getting a guy like Wayne would be nice. I assume he's a RFA coming right?

FRPLG - the only ones I'd want are backup DBs and Freeney!

I think wayne may be, but I question if Wayne can be a #1. Look at peerless price. When you're lined up next to Eric Moulds, getting open seems to be quite a bit easier. Wonder if the same is true for Wayne.

I wonder the same thing too. Let's not forget who's throwing the ball too.

I think with the signing of Harrison pretty much tells you that Edgerrins days in Indy are numbered.

I think the redskins need a mostly quiet offseason. We have seen time and time again that the answers do not lie in free agency...

the colts will draft a running back in the first and send edge packing. he'll end up in Miami. we don't need anyone unless its a healthy o line man with talent other than that were straight. I do see us getting either sam adams of buffalo or chris hovan of minnesota this offseason.

Actually, they structured Harrison's deal so that they can keep James.

The last thing they want to do is break up that trio. They'll do everything they can to keep all 3 in place for several more years.

Quote:
The structure of Harrison's contract will allow enough flexibility for the Colts to try to find a way to keep running back Edgerrin James. There is a $7 million roster bonus that can be converted into a signing bonus in order to lower Harrison's cap number in 2005 to around only $3.2 million.

There also is a $10 million flexible roster bonus that can be converted into signing bonus to help the salary cap in 2006.

he only got a 6 million dollar signing bonus, its just 22 that is guarenteed

eitherway, the colts just ensured they have a dominant offense for years to come. I hope they dont get a defense anytime soon.

$22M short-term bonus money (STBM) sounds about right. Coles got about $15M STBM, Portis $17M STBM.

Still trying to figure out how Champ is worth $23M STBM...

doubt that will happen. i like our tackles, but maybe we could use a better back up than jermaine haley. but brandon and joe have done a good job stuffing the run. and griffin is doing just fine with the pass rush and run stuffing. we do need a solid DE and i see that coming in this upcoming draft. we are way over due on drafting a DE. year after year we keep getting held up on that. not this year dammit, we need to get a solid DE. i would love to get one on the same side as griffin to have a suppieror threat on one side to prevent double teams as much as possible on one of them consistantly. with occationally blitzing arrington from the other side..... wow, we would have some pass rush there... with just sending in 5.

WR (speed/playmaker), C, DE, SS (unless matt learns to cover or ryan clark bulks up and starts blasting people)... another CB (for 3rd/4th slot), another backup lineman, super blocking TE...

I think thats the entire christmas list... time to see how good i've been this year.
