Re: Favre is a NO Go Against the Giants
There's another thread for that too.
Well, congratulations to Brett Favre on his record setting streak, which I won't lie, I believe it should've ended in 2008 when he tore his rotator cuff with the Jets. If their coaching staff had made him take an MRI or CT Scan and a torn rotator cuff showed up, I have no doubts he would've been placed on IR. But that's in the past and largely forgotten, and I won't be bitter about it seeing as how he is a HOFer and the streak was still largely impressive back in 2008, so I'll just congratulate him on playing through the pain all these years.

Re: Favre is a NO Go Against the Giants
Long live Brett Favre. I know he has a lot of critics, especially due to his waffling about retirement, but the bottom line here is that he was a man who gave his life to football, and had a deep seated desire to continue playing the game he loves, and wrestling with his own athletic mortality.
I wonder if he comes back at all this year, or is this it, with the playoffs completley out of the question...

Re: Favre is a NO Go Against the Giants
Pretty damn amazing streak, especially with the hits QBs take.
And I think he gets too much hate for his indecision. It's a job he really loves, and it's tough to leave something you love to do.

Re: Favre is a NO Go Against the Giants
What i dont understand is why, if the team wants to continue the streak, why they can't just put him in for one series or something...like a couple of handoffs...that way he can still start and keep the streak alive.

Re: Favre is a NO Go Against the Giants
Well they approached him about doing that, but (and this is the only time I'll praise Favre for a decision he makes) he said he would never do that, once it's over, it's over, no doing anything like that to keep it alive.

Re: Favre is a NO Go Against the Giants
Given no lockout and an 18 game schedule, Manning would have it in Dec/Jan of 2015/16, at age 39.

Re: Favre is a NO Go Against the Giants
I think this is finally it for him. So at the end of the day, I wonder if he's happier ending his career lying on his back in the midst of a miserable, scandal ridden season or would he have preferred have gone out slinging in an NFC Championship game?
