Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss

The mcnabb of 2004/05 would found a way to seal the win for his team but it's been evident since the beginning of the month that he is no longer the player he used to be. Too many interceptions and he is not throwing as many TD passes. He has been bailed out by the defense in the Eagles Game, Packers Game, and the Bears game. I wasn't expcting to be benched with the team only down 6 for Rex Grossman but he is clearly not the same guy. This team is damm lucky to be 4-4 because they could easily be 2-6.

McNabb benched for Rex in 4th qtr. New Era is here

Now I know we all argued about it last week, but Donovan McNabb just got benched in favor of Rex Grossman.

I know there will be a big debate, but obviously Shanahan and company has saw enough of McNabb and know that they need to make a QB change now, while the team still has a chance to make the playoffs.

I know Rex's first play as the starter resulted in a fumble when he was hit that was returned for a TD, but you can't really blame him because the line has been bad all day.

Regardless, it seems as though the Grossman era is now here in Washington.

I respect the decision that the coaches have made and will now be a Rex Grossman supporter. Maybe Sexy Rexxy saves the season??

mcnabb is a bum and is the sole reason for this loss, you throw into triple coverage when all we have to do is try and run out the clock and then on 4th and 10 he stands in the pocket for 5+ seconds takes a sack and doesnt even give the team a chance. he sucks, send him back to philly.

At this point can he do any worse? McNabb is simply missing too many easy routine plays. I think he should be sat down. This isn't a playoff team anyway. But on the last drive Kyle S needs some blame shifted his way too. Gotta run the ball there.

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss

Benching McNabb with a chance to win in favor of GROSSMAN entering a bye was a horrible decision....easily the worst Shanny has made this year....way to create more unneeded controversy...I guess the Haynesworth drama was not enough...Now we need to deal with a controversy that is ridiculous.
Grossman isn't even the 3rd best QB on the team....and I forget who the 3rd guy is.

You let McNabb win the game or lose it.
Now, he may even question wanting to be with the Skins for a contract extension

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss

@SportsFanatic and Hail2theSkins

You are absolutely wrong. McNabb is not the reason we lost this game. Even the announcers said it at the end; you could have any quarterback in the league back there and they would have done zilch behind our oline. They got absolutely manhandled today.

This just pains me because this is the exact same thing people said about campbell when he was here. Obviously he wasn't the greatest quarterback, but every single loss he took the blame, even when the offensive line was essentially standing aside and giving the defense free shots on him. There is no way to win with an offensive line playing like they did today, and further cements the case that we have to build our line with our #1 draft pick next april.

I would have said that too, but i have no idea what to think after what we just saw. I mean w 2 mins left, no timeouts and down by 6 would you have ever thought McNabb would have benched?

In my opinion the benching of McNabb at that point in the game was the dumber then when Gibbs called 2 time outs back to back. Especially considering how the line had played. I have no idea what to think right now.

First play he got hit and fumbled, so yeah he probably can do worse.

Regroup over the bye, get McNabb coached up, and move forward.

Bout time. Give him two weeks to prepare and instantly our WRs will be better. Dude got a completion to Galloway! Grossman with Kyle is like Todd Collins with Saunders. Sexy is back!
