Champ!

He looked about as good as Portis yesterday! Hard to tell right now who recieved the worse end of that deal, I still feel if we get a line who can run block in front of Portis he will be much better than Champ, the nation saw last night what we saw while he was here he is very overhyped, but he is a media darling the NFL just loves to promote this guy lucky they don't pay his salary.

I'm not a Champ hater, but he is so over-rated, and has really been exposed this season. I'm serious, there are so many conrnerbacks, including two on the Redskins who have played just as good if not better than him this season. Now, the only time I have watched Denver is when they have been on national tv, which he hasent looked good in any. I hate to root against the guy, but when they show that interview w/ him bashing the skins right before the game.... I automatically root against the Broncos.

I don't know about you guy's but I'm really tired of hearing how the Broncos got the better end of that deal. Do the Skins really mis him? Hasn't our secondary played great this season? Portis has nearly 1000 yards rushing this season which is the bench mark for a good back. The running game will come around once our line gets healthy. Just wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks

he really can't let it go, which is sad... the #25 defense went to #2 without him, and the passing D has been better since he left (due to our corners and williams)... if we coughed up what he wanted, we'd have over 30mill more tied up in corners with very little on field difference... champ wouldn't be used to sack QBs like springs is either...

I feel Denver has won out of the deal. Simply put there winning were not.

I guess we won't know the final score of this deal for a few years.

If Tatum Bell works out I'd have to give the edge to Denver. Right now it's pretty even, especially with the recent disapperance of Portis.

I betcha if the records were reversed the sports media would be saying how the Redskins got the better deal from the trade. Sure, Portis hasn't done much the past couple of games, but he's still very very close to getting over a thousand yards rushing and a couple of games with him rushing for about 150 yards (which is very doable for Portis) could possible get him close to the 1,500 mark.

Of course I still stand by my opinion that we need to at least supplement Portis with a big fullback that can run people over on the short downs.....

It's WAY too early to say winner or loser in the deal. Champ has been burnt a bunch this year (still hasn't made any game changing plays which is my biggest criticism of him, but that's another thread) and Portis hasn't done much of anything. Our defense is statistically better than it was last year with him so the argument could be that we got the better end since we haven't felt the loss and since Droughns is going to go for 1200+ the argument could be made that the Broncos weren't hurt either.

I think Denver got the better deal because of the extra draft pick we gave up to get Portis. But, over time...I think Portis will play better than Bailey.....if we can give him proper run-blocking and enough carries.

it really sucks that the five highest paid skins aren't playing near what they're getting paid... lavar is injured and on the bench, brunell is just terrible and was finally benched... samuels hasn't been awful, but for what he's making? damn... and coles has shown that he CAN play through injuries, as long as you don't mind watching him suck (compared to a healthy coles... that was a long time ago though), and portis has shown flashes and had good games, but has completely dissappeared right now.

when the pay checks aren't matching production, you've got problems... (springs, pierce, washington, griffin etc have been playing beyond their salaries though)

Suprisingly enough, the guy they replaced Portis with is doing better than Portis this season. The guy we replaced Champ with, is doing better than Champ this season. Kinda funny when you think about it that way.
