Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Unbelievable. I guess he was a real project.

Someone will snap him up quick. How about NE?

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Yeah I knew the guy was really struggling in the eyes of the coaches, but he's been very solid in the return game. I'm surprised we just straight up cut him. Sheesh. What a waste.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
To say our receiving corps is paltry would be a compliment. I wish we could find a way to draft AJ Green. We'll need to win less than 4 or 5 games to get that chance though.

So who is going to return kickoffs now?

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
You got to earn your keep...I really hoped they would turn him into a good WR. I guess all the off-season talk was lip service.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Wow! The Skins have not had any success at grooming WR's for the past 10-15 years...is it the WR's we bring in or the organization that can't produce players... maybe a combo but this needs to change!!!

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Me too. Maybe it's the conspiracy theorist in me, but I can't help but think there's more to this than meets the eye. The guy was averaging nearly 30 yards per kickoff return, plus he's still really young with the proverbial upside. Are Joey Galloway and Roydell Williams really better for the Skins right now? Thomas hasn't even seen the field as an offensive player under Shanny. Was he so bad in practice he didn't even earn a snap?
GTripp is going to have some "I told you so's" on this one....

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
I would cut Roydell Williams and promote Austin from the PS right now. I bet the 7th rounder can produce unlike our 2nd rounder.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Well DT is gone and at least he could stay healthy. How much you wanna bet the Skins are gonna wave buhbye to Kelly in the off season?

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
This year, Thomas couldn't make inroads despite a wide open No. 2 receiver competition that still hasn't been adequately filled. Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said recently that Thomas needed to take a "more professional" approach to practice to earn playing time on offense.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Who is our WR coach? Maybe that needs an overhaul?
