Enough negativity - Some bright spots...

I'm loving the separation that Anthony Armstrong and Brandon Banks are getting in pass routes. I first thought that Shanny should only keep one, but how can both not make the team the way that they're playing? Malcolm Kelly should be VERY nervous.

You are correct. Armstrong has come out of nowhere to be very impressive.

Trent Williams needs strength and experience but he should be a good one.

For a new scheme, and with a few bumps, our defense has played pretty well. Although there will be rough spots ahead, the transition to the 3-4 may be more painless than a lot of people feared.

This is exactly what I was thinking - Shanahan could try utilize Banks like he utilized Eddie Royal within a few years, when Banks get enough experiences.. Although Banks is still small.. Armstrong can stretch the field, if McNabb didn't threw it under then it would have been a touchdown easily.. If he continues to this next two games, then I hope we can keep him and maybe replace Moss with Armstrong next year or so..

After the game, like you guys said, Kelly should be worried.. Would it be possible for us to put him on PUP for a little while, it should give us an extra time to make the decision?

Eddie Royal has 4 inches and 20 pounds on Banks. Besides I've never seen it work out where a team takes a special teams ace and puts him on offense full time. It's nice in theory but it seldom ever works. I'd rather try Terrance Austin or Anthony Armstrong in the Eddie Royal role.

Smoot answered the PUP list question in another thread so I can pass it along to ya.

Since MK started training camp on the active roster he cannot be put on the PUP list.

So, No is the short answer to that Gridiron.

MK is on thin ice for sure..Anyone go to the game last night and notice that Kelly was featured on the ticket? Maybe that is a ploy to get him to work harder.

MK is done! If you don't even dress for pre-season you can't impress the new coaches who did not draft you... short rope for that hanging!

My guess is he will be put on IR, I don't think they would throw away a 2nd round pick. They could also trade him.

Re: Enough negativity - Some bright spots...

bright spot:

on that 3rd and 14 on the first drive. the ravens D has their ears peeled back ready to blitz.

blitz comes, mcnabb knew it was coming, rolled back and to his left to buy some time, hits cooley with an accurate ball on the run.

sorry to do this (compare mc to jc) but JC wouldnt have had the presence or pre-read ability to calmly buy time and make the throw for a first. he probably would have just got sacked or dump it off for a gain short of the 1st down marker.

Armstrong has to make this team and so does Banks. Also good to see Moss getting open too. Passing game will be better this year. Better design and better QB.

Armstrong has been very impressive...but his success won't have an impact on Kelly. Different types of receivers filling different needs.

This. How exciting is it to actually have a quarterback BACK in DC again!!!????

I hope he proves all the naysayers wrong, wins a championship with us, and retires as a Redskin in 4 or 5 years.

I really like Rich Campbell's breakdowns, the Post ought to get him in as the Skins coverage guy. I don't understand why the Fredericksburg Post gives consistently better coverage than local media:
