Redskins' Big Gamble Comes Up a Loser

According to the agate type in the Washington Post today, the Tampa Bay Bucs have signed Sultan McCullough to their practice squad.

The Skins had tried to hide this future Hall of Fame running back on their practice squad because they had paid so much money to Clinton Portis but they could not hide Sultan's brilliance under a bushel. This signing obviously makes Tampa Bay a powerhouse and a Super Bowl contender for the next decade.

Several members "The Warpath" - an Internet gathering site for Redskins' fans - are in mourning today over this development...

So I guess the Panthers cut him from their practice squad. Considering how poor Carolina's running game has been this year, with Davis and Foster hurt, it can't be a good sign that Sultan couldn't crack that roster

i on the other hand never liked him. i never saw anything good out of him, and he only played against 200th stringers, and he had a bad attitude

I still can't believe we let this guy go, perhaps the worst front office blunder we've had.

Are you kidding Matty? I didn't see anything spectacular from him in pre-season except a lot of 2 yard runs.

I can't believe it, The Sultan "of squat" McCullough was clearly the MVP on offense in the preseason (and we all know that's when it matters the most). The way he tap dances when he's eluding defenders, reminds me of all the great ones Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Earl Cambell and one of the all time great Skins RB's Reggie Brooks. He's a lock to top 2000 yards this season and we better get used to seeing him in Hawaii for the next decade. I'm not worried though if he has any kind of success i'm pretty sure Danny Boy has got a multimillion dollar contract for him, to get him back.

Matty:

Indeed we do need a sarcasm font or a sarcasm smilie. I'll try to be more explicit about the sarcasm if I do something like that again.

4th Ring:

Good response. I definitely like "Sultan of Squat" and the way you worked in Reggie Brooks was very good! :thumb:
