Five Rookies to Watch
Check out Redskins.com Five Rookies to Watch At Training Camp
My response: Why only 5? Why not Capers & Cook? Why not some of the other UDFAs whose names escape me? We are coming off a 4-12 campaign and that should mean a new/young blood infusion and lots of it!

T Austin will be our version of Eddie Royal.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
Dennis Morris is gonna keep my attention. If he does well it could end Sellers tenure with the skins. Its gonna be hard to root for him considering how well Sellers has done for us, and how fun he has been to watch. Besides last season he has been a standout on teams and offense.
Brandon Banks is gonna be fun to watch, hopefully he gets some time in preseason games.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
I agree with that statement MLM. Dennis Morris could be one of the steals in this draft. My top guy under the radar is Capers.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
Obviously everyone will be watching Trent Williams so other than him I'll be watching:
I think Austin has the quickness and speed we're looking for in a receiver. Capers should also be interesting considering he could be the RT of the future, and he has the quickness to keep up with a lot of pass rushers in the NFL; its coaching and strength this guy needs. Perry Riley is another rookie to watch, he has the quickness and toughness to be a great 3-4 ILB for us, and like Capers should be a future starter for us. Shay Hodge will be interesting to me considering he was a star at Ole Miss who put up big numbers in college, but didn't have his name called on draft day due to speed.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
Shay Hodge. Good call, could be a sleeper and a guy to watch. just checked up on his stats and his season at ole Miss. 9 TDs and 1100 yards isnt to shabby although with a 40time of 4.5 and 4.55 he is pretty slow. That being said he might not have good 40speed but good football speed. I don't know, interesting prospect.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
I would just like one of these guys to become a true starter for us. Obviously Trent will be solid but we need that late round steal! I thought we had it with horton until he got injured. Hope he can come back strong

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
Capers and Cook aren't even guarantees to make the final roster.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
I think the only real guarentee to make the roster is Trent Williams, maybe Riley. Would not surprise me if any of the 5,6,7 rounders get cut. Capers I have a vested interest in as he was a Mountaineer so I am pulling big time for the guy, that and it would be nice to get a LT and RT in the same draft. We would be set for awhile if they both panned out.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
Williams is a lock, outside of him I say Riley makes it and so does Morris. The rest are question marks.

Re: Five Rookies to Watch
In related news...I believe Trent Williams has just signed his contract, and it's now being approved by the league.
Don't quote me on that, can't confirm it yet. Will start a new thread whenever I get confirmation. Until then please just consider it educated speculation.
