wait and see, its possible, but we do have big question marks on how good both our tackles will be.

yes it is possible. But there are ifs with our line as well as the others in the division. If this line can gell quickly then we can be the best. AND the tackles. If they are the beast we expect then we are good to go.

I won't believe the hype until they prove it on the field, which is pretty rare for the Redskins.

The blog is right in the fact that we have put most of our offseason moves in bolstering the line. Which we all knew was what had to happen for this team to even think of competing again in the NFC Beast.

I can't wait until they put the pads on. All the speculation, whether positive or negative, needs on-the-field validation.

Lets put it this way, there's no way it can be any worse than last year.

They might also have the deepest. Hicks, BMW, Edwin Williams, Kory L, Rinehart, Capers, Cook, Heyer. Obviously not all of these guys are going to make the team but each of them has a silver lining. Weather it's freakish athleticism seen in Selvish Capers or the once top 5 talent of Mike Williams on the rebound. By the way if Mike Williams zero's in on that talent he's as good as Leonard Davis.
At the very least they're going to be an amazing run blocking line. Trent Williams might need a little seasoning as far as pass blocking is concerned but as a run blocker he's already elite.

It easily could be. But will it? as everyone else said, the Redskins need to show it on the field.

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?
No.
First of all, we don't yet know who all the starters will be. When that is determined, then they need to work together for long enough to meld into a unit. More than any other group on the field, the coordinated efforts of the players is what makes an OL. Also, we're going to be starting a rookie at OLT which I find pretty scary. So we've got a long way to go before we have any idea how good out OL can be. At this point, I'd have to say that at least the Giants and Dallas OL's should be more cohesive and, as such, better than ours. We'll just have to see how our OL does once the season starts. |

Quote:
The Dallas line though benefits from Romo's escapability, and Felix Jones speed. I would not put their line as any better than ours as it stands now. Their left OT is as shaky as ours was without Samuels, they are relying on an unproven LT in Free, and a bust LT in Barron. We have an unproven rookie, but IF he doesn't pan out we can shift JBrown over, and put Hicks back at RT, that alone is a better line than Dallas'. And Dallas has overlooked their line in the draft nearly as badly as we have. The final question mark is Rabach. Is he good enough, and he has looked bad due to the lack of talent around him, or is he just bad. If he is bad, we will need a rookie(Cook) or 2nd year guy (williams) to step up and play. Pessimism is natural due to our recent past, but let's not give credit to other teams without looking at their flaws. |

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?
It is great we have finally invested in the future of our O-line.
We have had a productive offseason. But that is as far as we should take it when it comes to talk. I would prefer to quietly sneak on other teams next year and knock the shit out of them. Talk is for losers. Show it on the field. We sound like fans of a perennially losing team with articles like this one. It is embarrassing for a 4-12 team to talk like this. |

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?
I still think a wild card as our back up center is Kory L. ( not even going to try and butcher his last name ) Shanny drafted him in the fourth round a few years ago for a reason. Given MS's track record with talent later in the draft Kory may end up with the back up role with a chance to start if Casey struggles.
