Tan, rested, and married!

I'm back bitches!

After a phenomenal wedding weekend in SW Florida and five nights in Aruba, I'm back in DC with the WIFE!! It has been the best week of my life for sure.

We just got in a few hours ago. I have tons of pics, some of which I'll post later. I popped in a few times for a few minutes while I was in Aruba, but it's probably the longest I've gone without posting on the Warpath since joining. I need my fix.

Congratulations, GM! Been married 6 years. One piece of advice: You are never right...don't ever let her know that.

Congrats...Do you feel different yet? I hear your balls feel tighter as if they're being squeezed after the first few nights and continue to feel that way for the rest of your married life.

I do feel different, but in a good way. At one point during the reception, Brooke went to use the restroom (a two person chore with her dress), and I didn't know it. So I said to my friend Sarah, "where's my wife?" Then I stopped for a second, smiled, and had a moment in my own head. First time I ever referred to her as "my wife." It was awesome.

Brooke and I have been a couple since we were in school together at UF (7 years now), and have lived together almost the entire time. We were never in a rush to get married, and I'm SO glad we waited, because everything about the wedding felt perfect. It's not like there were some mysteries about each other that had yet to come to light. We've always been happy together, but we both feel like it's on a whole new level now (obviously).

Yup, a whole new level... now she gets HALF!!!

Just kidding, congradulations and best wishes. A good marriage takes a lot of work but is well worth the effort.

Phenomenal! GMStud Really happy for you

I love being married, sure you have your downs at times, but this week my wife has been out of town on business and it's pretty painful not having her around.

Re: Tan, rested, and married!

Here are some pics. The wife asked me not to plaster the whole wedding on the internet, and we took literally over 300 pics between the wedding/honeymoon. But here are a few highlights:

The night before the wedding (rehearsal dinner, then a ton of partying afterwards) was just ridiculous fun.

Just a sample of the kick ass food the Hyatt put out:

Classic Miami Vice pic of me and my bro. Just hammered drunk in one of the hotel rooms. Don't ask me why the Ray Bans were on at 2am.

Me and one of my closest friends. He was a superstar usher during the ceremony. Came up huge.

Brooke's Dad giving away the beautiful bride.

It was nice to have our own table. We actually got a chance to eat and talk.

The wedding party. Amatuer photo by my Mom, but you get the idea.

More to follow...

Re: Tan, rested, and married!

Is this view from our hotel room in Aruba any good?

One of the very first things we see on the beach are the traveling Borats. LOL.

Absolutely amazing. Baby Beach. Great snorkeling, perfect water.

I could think of worse places for happy hour.

The look away.

Pretty much the best view I've ever had for a dinner. Flying Fishbone. Our feet were literally in the water while dining.

Right before we went wreck diving at the Antilla. WWII German ship that's been underwater for the better part of 70 years. Awesome stuff.

Loungin Son (yeah, that's single malt in my hand):

This guy was sick on the ropeswing:

Me? Not so much.

It was really cool, but we didn't have an underwater camera, so I'm afraid I can't show you anything there.

The wreck is covered in fire coral, so we had to be really careful. The whole time we were swimming around the wreck I couldn't help but picturing what the ship looked like in full swing with German soldiers all over the deck. It was one heckuva experience.

I found this video on youtube. Should give you the gist:

Re: Tan, rested, and married!

I took a 24oz Aquafina bottle and filled it with breadcrumbs. Open that sucker up 30 feet underwater and squeeze, and the amount of fish that swarm you is crazy!!
