Personal attacks on the forum

Recently it seems a few forum members have been getting a little bitchy with each other and it's getting personal. I want to make it crystal clear right now, personal attacks will not be tolerated on the board, NO EXCEPTIONS.

I hate to do stuff like this, but I really don't know what else to do. So here's what's going to happen until this crap clears up. If a moderator or myself warns you on the forum, consider this a slap on the wrist, but it's not an "official warning". Your first official warning will come in a private message. Take heed of this warning, because if a second one comes, it will result in a 7 day ban from the board. Consider that strike 1 and 2 against you. If you are warned again after being banned for 7 days, that's it, congrats you just received a lifetime ban.

We're just not going to tolerate personal attacks on the forum. There's simply no need for it.

Hell yeah, lay the smack down.

Can strike four be, that we find out where the person lives and beat the crap out of them?

Hate to say it, but Matty is right. For the most part, there have been a " Core group " of us , with new people joining us all the time, and becoming one of the group we have here. I really think we have been together long enough to understand that most if not all attacks arent personal. I defintley agree with this desicion.

haha...I like the core group of guys analogy. Good decision Matty, I think it'll take me back to the days when I actually used to read all of the posts!

Please understand, there is a difference between being a little smarmy and getting personal. We call that the "RedskinRat line". As moderators, we will tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to inappropriate and derogatory language, so try to keep it clean.

yea, good job matty , differences in opinions are one thing but there is no need to attack someone personally. it's all fun and games until somebody losses an eye.

I know for me it was getting kinda depressing seeing fellow skins fans completely turn away from what this site is about. It's a shame it had to come to this but thanks for taking a stand Matty before things got even worse.

Matty:

What happened? I've been away for 10 days and there has been discord and name-calling in the forum?

I thought I was the only one who did not play well with others... :tongue

Why did you just block my IP address and not give me a reason as to why I was blocked? No email, no private message, no nothing? And now there is a 7 day ban? This was not fair at all.

I agree.....having a difference of opinion is one thing, but personal attacks turn the boards into a squabbling mess.......and we don't want to be like the Cowboy fans do we
