I agree with ZackMills?

Wannstedt may not have the career numbers (thanks to a disasterous stint in Chicago), but he turned into a pretty good clock manager. I would suggest, however, that a very good coach could adjust his gameplan to accomodate the loss of a player and make his team competitive at the least. The Dolphins never did that.

It is a shame that he has had to suffer this season, though. Who knows whether he could have gotten over the "playoffs-but-no-championship" hump?

The Dolphins needed a change anyway. The Dolphins under him were always competitive but just couldn't get over the hump.

They have zero talent on offense. Williams was there entire offense. When he kicked it they were doomed. I don't care how they adjusted they were never better than a 5 or 6 win team. It IS his fault they have no talent which is why they stripped him of personnel decisions. Looks like The Ole Ball Coach might get another chance down there.

Would Ricky have made a huge difference this year though??

They're still horrible at QB and on the OL.

Maybe they're a 7 to 9 win team with Ricky, but they have bigger problems that go deeper than RB. Plus they've been killed with injuries this year.

I have to squash you on that comment & say Dave has had just enough talent to compete. Wayne never went all out & built a Dolphins' team to win it all. There were a few years where you thought that they might go all the way, but they have always lacked that SUPERSTAR playa. Ricky was very good, but the QB's were never good enough to allow Ricky to exploit his great talent. Plus the WR's were alway good, but not great. Gadsen was the last great threat they had before Chambers.

I blame Wayne for Daves demise.

Hang in there Dave a good coaching position will open for some of your talent.

You have to wonder though how they might have done not only with Ricky, but also with David Boston.

I think read somewhere that over the past five years that DW has a better overall record than Belichick but you know, you've got to win those win big games and the Dolphins simply haven't. Not that they're anywhere near the playoffs now

there problem is dallas's problem, the Head coach SUCKS as a GM... good coach, but no depth on offense and he paid too much for sub par QBs... and DW can't do smoke and mirrors like some other teams have been forced to do (lions, ravens)...

Who's decision was it to trade for Feely? I thought it was Wannstedt. If it was he should be canned for that decision alone.

I don't think it was Wannstedts decision on that trade. That was all the GM. Whats the guys name? Spielman or something like that?
