Jon Gruden's QB Camp

Talk about must see TV:
NFL: ESPN analyst Jon Gruden evaluated NFL QB prospects Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Jimmy Clausen and Tim Tebow during workouts in Tampa, Fla. - ESPN

Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, Jimmy Clausen, and Sam Bradford all get yelled at, err critiqued by Gruden. Use the video playlist located under the videos to see the different QB's

A couple of notes:
- Gruden gets on Bradford about his horrible sliding ability
- Colt McCoy's "Southern Drawl"
- Tim Tebow shows why he's a bad ass when asked what he brings to the team.
- Haven't seen the Jimmy Clausen video yet.

Re: Jon Gruden's QB Camp

This is the equivalent of sports porn for me. Watching the coach and QB break down film is going to be awesome.. The Clausen preview piece this morning was pretty indicative as to why I didn't want Clausen anywhere near us. His footwork was sloppy on one play (a TD pass) and Gruden asked him why. He nonchalantly said, 'I guess I just got lazy on that one.' like it wasn't a big deal. Gruden ripped him accordingly. On another play where there was a miscommunication he blamed the WR rather than saying that he needs to do a better job of reading the WR and making faster decisions. Even if it's BS you are on camera blaming a teammate for an interception. I'm sure that will raise red flags all over.

*EDIT-As I was saying... Clausen's segment with Gruden hints at a leadership flaw | ProFootballTalk.com *

Sorry for the side rant but I can't wait to watch this.

I wouldn't be mad if we picked up Tebo as a project behind McNabb. His attitude, intensity and work ethic I believe if cultivated right would make a tremendous QB. I think now that we have a QB like McNabb we can pursue a project like Tebow for the future.

Really, I thought Clausen was the best one behind Tebow according to the preview. I mean to me that willingness to study film is huge for me. McCoy did the worse because Gruden really got him rattled, though I did like his answer to how he was going to gain command of the huddle. Bradford was pretty non-chalant but I felt that Gruden was easiest on him.

Tebow's reverse though of asking Gruden "do you want me on your team" was freaking classic. Of course as I now know all of this is just based on the preview.

Re: Jon Gruden's QB Camp

I'm loving this. I've always been a big fan of Jon Gruden, and he loves Tebow, so these segments are right up my alley. The clip of him and McCoy was classic. He totally dogs him. I was laughing out loud.

I missed the McCoy preview but I'm sure it will all be included tonight.

Agreed about Jimmy Clausen. He just REEKS of douchebaggery. I want ZERO part of that kid.

I've heard all kinds of stuff about this kid. Pictures of him participating in the "Beer Olympics" when still underage, showing up at Notre Dame as a freshman in a limo wearing a fur coat, I heard his family was a nightmare with the boosters, demanding 40 tickets a game for friends, etc etc. Hell, he got punched in a the face outside of a restaurant in South Bend by a Notre Dame fan!! LOL!!

I just can't stand him. I will be legitimately angry if he somehow ends up a Redskin.

Most of that is from when he was a Freshman and Sophmore. Personally the difference for me between my Freshman year and now is like night and day. Without telling to much I will say that I tried A LOT of stuff when I first got to college. I was partying at least 3 days a week with more then just alcohol. Making out with random girls, skipping class, etc.

Today I don't even drink, I only use my Adderall on as need basis and rarely use caffeine (maybe a 5 hour energy once or twice a month). On top of that I have no desire to drink anytime in the near future. My brother went through a relatively similar situation as a colleigate athlete, though not nearly as crazy as I was and today it's safe to say that the only thing in his system might be caffine. He to gave up drinking a while ago himself. Granted this is just my own experience and based on a limited scope but my point is that it's not inconceivable that Clausen could have had his own turnaround and based on what I've heard from Notre Dame students thats what seems to have happened. I guess at Notre Dame you would call it a "coming to Jesus" moment.

That's about the only thing I can take issue with. What college kid didn't drink while underage? I mean, I don't think that's indicative of anything. Talk about his attitude/leadership ability/skill level all you want, but I can't take issue with a kid enjoying college.

I know, he should be smarter and he should probably be held to a higher standard, but we're talking about a 19 year old whose only mistake was, really, getting caught on camera. I don't like him 1 bit, but I feel like he got unfairly ripped for drinking underage.

Yeah I mean I did my share of stupid ish during my college years as well, and I know that people grow up. I just cannot stand this kid. I can't really put my finger on any one reason. I don't wish ill on the guy, but I want zero part of him as a Washington Redskin.

He and his entire family (brothers and parents) are super-arrogant, and flaunted Jimmy's athletic prowess at every turn. If you're going to put yourself out there as the "Kid with the Golden Arm," then how about you don't pose for pictures at 19 years old in the Beer Olympics. Like you said, he should be held to a higher standard, especially when you've been pimping yourself as a stud. If you wanted to be treated with a higher standard, then hold yourself to one. You don't see that stuff coming out with Tebow, Bradford, and McCoy.

Again, I simply can't stand this little D-bag (not you Dirtbag )
