Happy Day

Sad day for fellow Democrats, but a happy day for me personally.

I had been out of work for over a year after my job was off-shored to India.

Today, however, I learned that I landed a job with ESPN as a developer in their sports stats department. Some of the projects they have going on sound pretty great. It's a 6 month contract with right to hire. I start next week.

Sorry to the many people I've ticked off over the past year because of my bad attitude.

Congratulations E!! As one of your sparring partners, I took no offense from "bad attitude" and hope you took none from my responses. Losing a job is an extremely traumatic event, one from which some people never fully recover. I am really glad you have landed on your feet.

Working for ESPN. How's the atmosphere. Is it just mascots and tiger woods walking around like the commercials advertise?!

Atmosphere is pretty cool...more casual than I'm used to... TVs on everyones' desks tuned in to ESPN or The Deuce... but we're definitely getting work done. It's great to be talking about sports all day and not thought to be goofing off.

No mascots, celebs or studio tours yet.

haha, I was just kidding about that!

Did they lock you all in a room and force you to watch that awful production they called "3"?

Hard for me to bite the hand that's feeding me... but 3 is even worse than the Pete Rose deal.

haha, Amen EEIch, I saw a little snippet of it and almost wanted to keep watching for humor value, but saw that "The Hebrew Hammer" was on Comedy Central!
