It almost feels like you can "smell" RFK looking at those pics

Re: Remembering RFK Stadium
That's a great collection of photographs. I have such fond memories of RFK, Football and Baseball being played there from the day it opened. Home field advantage dissapeared when the Redskins left RFK.

Re: Remembering RFK Stadium
RFK; a stadium that is an icon to the Redskins & DC. Please move back to the city Danny! And if that move could be to the grounds of RFK, all the better.
Maybe by 2020 my dream could come true. |

Re: Remembering RFK Stadium
not a bad seat in the house. i was hoping to see some pics of the mens bathrooms with the troofs (sp?), guys pissin in the sink, that kind of stuff reminds me of rfk even though i only remember a few games as a young kid.
and the rockin stands. i wasnt there when the skins and boys played and the whole place was rockin but the games i did go to, those kinda metal/wood foundation for the seats (i think in the corner lower levels) were rockin. not like the concrete foundations everyone has today. the only good reason to see a nats game was to check out the ol stadium.

Re: Remembering RFK Stadium
Only time I've managed to get to a Skins game was a 3 week solo visit in '94. Caught the Skins v Cardinals game at RFK. Fantastic day, great weather, great crowd, and even though we lost, can't complain as my man DG returned an INT for a TD. I've told the wife (then girlfriend) I'm going to take her to DC sometime and catch another game. DOn;t know when as right now it would take a lottery win!
Must dig out my old photo's from that day and scan them in (pre-digital age). |

Re: Remembering RFK Stadium
Some great memories there. I used to sit in sec 324 up against the wall. I have sat in the "retractable" seats that shook up and down for the Dallas game. Wow, what freaking memories.

Re: Remembering RFK Stadium
FedEx has never rocked as loud as RFK, and probably never will. With the covered rim, RFK was an acoustical nightmare for opposing QB's. I probably sustained hearing damage from the dozen or so games that I saw there, but it was certainly worth it - thanks for the memories, Buster.
