Jags starter rips tebow! Says no to drafting him.
Growing up in fla, I'm a big gators fan but honestly as much as I like tim, this guy has a solid point. I really don't see tebow being a starting qb in the NFL... Discuss! Jaguars lineman unloads on Tebow | ProFootballTalk.com

Re: Jags starter rips tebow! Says no to drafting him.
I still think Tebow has value as a potential h-back/TE type player with maybe a little wildcat peppered in, but anyone who thinks he's gonna be a legit starting QB is fooling themselves... for the reason stated, he doesn't have an arm.

he'll get a chance at QB and if you don't think he will...you don't know much at football. The kid is at least deserving of a chance to prove himself at the next level...some club will take a chance and it will be in the first round. book it.

I agree there's a good shot he'll go in the first round. But there's a big difference between "getting a chance" and actually developing into a legit player.

He has a quality about him that will enable him to be successful even if it's at a position other than QB. He's blessed with that burning desire to succeed, it's the intangibles along with the belief he has in himself that will prove to be his greatest asset.

I think I'm almost rooting for Tebow now. The amount of venom directed his way lately has become a little disturbing. Let's give the kid a chance before he's completely written off.

Tebow seems like a solid guy with great character who definately deserves a shot to prove himself...just not in a Redskins uniform.

If the Jags do draft Tebow now, there could be some awkward locker room moments. Imagine the first time that Nwaneri and Tebow talk.

Re: Jags starter rips tebow! Says no to drafting him.
Tebow has issues w/mechanics & takes too long to get rid of the ball, i.e. maybe he doesn't see the field well. The latter may not be correctable much, but if a coach wants to work on his release that can be done.
Otherwise, he's a high character guy w/work ethic, intangibles, etc. For all the players in the draft every year that have shortcomings this guy's have been really analyzed too much. Like any nfl qb, give him a few years to grow. I think he's a QB, not an H-back/fullback, and I wouldn't mind seeing us get him in the 4th or later. I know he's unlikely to be there. Some team w/fewer needs that already has a starting qb in place for the next 4-5 years is going to take him w/the hopes they can groom him into at least a solid backup. Our problem, as always, is that we have too many needs to justify taking a chance on players like this w/a pick in the early rounds. |

His mechanics can be tweaked and improved with good coaching. I agree, his best option will be to land with a good team that is willing to invest some time in him & won't toss him into the fire right away.

Scary if he went to New England, Brady has maybe 3 or 4 more solid years there then they bring in Tebow. I could see that working.

You have got to be kidding me! There is no way Tebow goes in the 1st round. For the reasons stated before. He's a 3rd rounder @ best. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the great Tim Tebow was "Mr. Irrelevant"? lmao

Yeah I don't see someone taking him in the 1st. I would say late 2nd at the very earliest, even then that might be a stretch.
