Points allowed

The Skins have the 2nd fewest points allowed in the NFC (95), and 4th in the league.....only behind the Ravens, Patriots, and Eagles, who have a combined 16-2 record.
What does this mean? Our D rules! Especially when you consider that 35 of those (I think) were directly allowed by the offense or special teams. Also, it means that if we had any semblance (sp?) of offense, our record would be right up there with them. We only have a pathetic 84 points scored...2nd worst inthe NFL. I am hoping and praying that we get things going in the passing game starting this week.
Disclaimer: Please do not turn this into another Brunell vs. Ramsey thread...there are plenty of them, and Gibbs has made his decision (at least for this week).

Our D is awesome, but we have a true test this week against the No.2 offense in the NFL. Oh yeah and that guy named Brett Favre.

Favre's weaknesses can be exploited by getting to him early and often. We need to make him force some throws and make mistakes.

The numbers don't lie and with all the injuries it's a testament to what good coaching can do. Williams is the M.V.P. on defense so far, we are getting production from everbody. Who knows, we could have ourselves the next belichick. The bigger question for me though is, how much has the offense improved? IMO this game will be our "make it or break it" game. If we see no improvement after having two weeks to prepare, Gibbs should make changes to salvage the remainder of the season.

LET'S GO OFFENSE!!!!!

Greg Williams isn't an unkown. He has been in the league for years and made Tenesse and Buffalo have great defenses with his schemes, but we have a solid defense with the right coordinator i.e. Lewis and now Williams

What I meant is that he might become a great head coach.

Remember how the Bucs dominated the Raiders in the Super Bowl 2 years ago. #1 defense vs #1 offense led by MVP Rich Gannon. I hope we can follow the trend. We just need some help from the passing game.

Actually, it looks even better on a per game basis - 2nd in the NFL. AND that includes the points the O has given up.

Makes me laugh when people are saying we haven't faced a decent offense yet - any noted Tiki Barbers performance or the Giants record? The Cowpokes haven't exactly been slouches and the Ravens have had a great running game for the last 3 years (and they didn't exactly run all over us all game).

Likewise they don't see us faring well against the Packers. Whilst I may be wrong, I think this could be Sean Taylors break out game. Favre likes to test the secondary to the point of tossing INT's. The more he tries the more he throws. Just the lind of QB Taylor likes to play against.

Green Bay will definitely be the most well rounded offense we've faced.

That being said shut down Ahman Green and I think you can really handcuff their offense.

Either way it's not going to be an easy day. Can anyone really say they're looking forward to playing against Favre?

I was gonna say almost the same thing. Stop Green and put it in Favre's (injured) hands. He has been very inconsistent this year, and if he has to throw the ball, yeah, he'll usually throw a couple TD passes....But against a good defense, he's also bound to force a couple and throw a couple picks. Like AnonEmouse said, this could potentially be Taylor's break-out game, especially if LA is back and in Brett's face a lot of the time. If not, Smoot, Springs, Clark, etc. I could see our defense scoring a TD in this one.

their D is horrible too... if we can't get it together and put up some points on them, that's pretty much the season... we'll see though
