these news outlets are crap. comcast was saying that a deal was already done with shanny, now he would be interested in the bears job? it cant be both ways.

Shanny and Allen said they wanted to work together. We have Allen. End of story for me until a source more reliable than PFT chimes in otherwise.

Yea PFT is good at times but I won't trust here... Shanny will be our HC in 2 weeks.

It's not like the story originated at PFT.

Re: Are the Bears a Legit spot for Shanny?
No. Here's why....
1) He wants Allen as his GM. He's said so in his interview with Buffalo. 2) Chicago is not as exciting for him. This is the NFC BEast baby. 3) He and DS are good friends. They talk all the time. 4) I'm telling you the deal was made back in Oct. It's not rocket science. |

6) The Bears aren't going to fire Lovie Smith anyways 7) The only reason he's not been named yet is because the season isn't over As for the Houston rumors, Schefter was very clear on Mike and Mike this morning. His son will join him wherever he coaches next year because his contract is up at the end of the season. If Houston fires Kubiak, Shanahan would not accept the job out of respect for him. They are extremely close (Shanahan was Kubiak's best man) and there's a tremendous amount of professional respect.

done deal this...decided weeks ago that...are you guys forgetting who our owner is? He is the king, the master of all random moves. I would say to show some temperance and not consider it a foregone conclusion until the press conference.

Re: Are the Bears a Legit spot for Shanny?
The whole point of that article was to just say the last line "But if Shanahan can at least get the Bears to come sniff around a bit, Shanahan might be able to squeeze more money out of the 'Skins."
Sure things could change at the last minute and Shanahan isn't the coach, but the Bears are a hot mess right now. I'd rather go to Buffalo I was Shanny. I think Cutler will bounce back but, apart from the fact that the Bears probably won't pay Lovie and Shanahan all that money, the Bears don't even have a first round or a second round pick. Gaines Adams for a 2nd has to be one of the worst trades in a long, long time. I just don't see Shanahan in Chicago

Re: Are the Bears a Legit spot for Shanny?
Showing any interest in the bears{if he is not already signed and we dont know it} will def give him leverage.Everyone, and i mean everyone, knows we will overpay to get our man. Also shanny could use this to help get more control if he is hired,i.e. he has final say over personel descisions.I wouldnt mind him as a coach but i dont want him making personel descisions,he did a lousy job of that in Denver
