Rod Gardner

Per the WP game preview page:
Quote:
Washington WR Rod Gardner is off to best start of career, posting 20 receptions for team-leading 313 yards. Gardner is tied for NFL lead (Terrell Owens) with three catches of at least 40 yards.
Not bad! He seems to really be on a mission to prove himself this year. I think having 3 WR's behind him with the ability to be a quality #2 or 3 WR has pushed him, and he is responding. Assuming that the offense really gets rolling soon (which I believe it will), I won't be at all surprised to see career numbers from both him and Coles.

Well, I'll 'fess up. I said many times that he would be gettin' splinters by week 4. No one could be happier about the turnaround than I am, though. He dropped a couple crucial ones in the first couple games. Hopefully, that will stay behind him now. I love his downfield blocking. If we can get Portis downfiled more, he'll get a chance to show it off.

i would like to see thrash and jacobs a little more as well. i see them fitting the Ricky Sanders roll. when art and gary lead the way then. but ricky always had a huge roll in the offense and i would like to see thrash and jacobs and mccants as well take that spot. the way i see it, we have to spread the D to be able to run now. and i mean seeing those guys in while we still have gardner and coles in. meaning 3WR sets. thrash has been doing ricky sanders role, but not enough IMO and thrash has the same characteristics that sanders had. put him in motion since he has a tough time beating the press cvg and motion is the best counter to beat the bump. what do yall think?
