Re: Second-Year Receiver Report Card

Eh, Thomas and Kelly played every snap they were supposed to, Kelly had a good grab. The critical drops were from other receivers. Kelly did have one play where he ran the route just short of the sticks, that will kill our offense too
but I was happy with them overall, say B's

Fred Davis. Fumbles give him an F. Sorry.

Re: Second-Year Receiver Report Card

Better that Davis becomes more aware of ball protection during pre-season than fumbling in a big game. I would have liked to see Jason take a shot further downfield to Thomas at some point. Overall, I thought the young receivers did OK, Davis fumbling aside.

Re: Second-Year Receiver Report Card

How in the hell can you give someone a grade right now? It's typical to hand out grades at the end of the year, not before it's even started.

FYI Davis matched Kelly's year one production in one game...fumbles or not. It is too soon to say anything about these guys.

Got a tweet during the game that Kelly went up for a high pass and came down with it, was it really a nice catch? What was DT's catch like?

Kelly reached high and snatched the ball out of the air. It was good to see. Kind of a small glimpse of what his size can do for us.

Fred Davis should be an F. Fumbling twice is worth an F, fumbling twice int he same possession deserves an F-.

Yeah 53 I hope we see more of that. If Kelly stays healthy I feel like he'll start opposite Moss come opening day.

It was a very nice catch...but doesn't make up for running a 5 yard pattern on 3rd and 6...

I think Kelly and Thomas will be big contributors to the offense this year, as will Fred Davis (fumbles aside).

Yeah, Kelly acknowledged he didn't get enough depth on the pattern but the more he plays the better he'll get. I agree. I think all 3 will contribute this year.

Yes, but they haven't taken any yet. It's like getting a grade for answering a question wrong in an open discussion durring class.

Re: Second-Year Receiver Report Card

I think Kelly and Thomas looked ok, the main thing, in my mind is both went and went full speed. maybe they work out, maybe not, but atleast they look to be a part of the offense this year and not bench warmers. Thats gotta be a positive, doesn't it?
