Vick conditionally reinstated by NFL (updated)

Source: Roger Goodell might suspend Michael Vick for first four games of 2009 NFL season - ESPN

Your thoughts on where Vick lands and will he start at some point this season? Good timing for him he can get on before camps start.

For the record, I'm not a Vick fan at all.

Im not a Vick fan either . I would guess Oakland as a qb/wr type . It would be interesting to see him in Minnesota with Peterson , Harvin and possibly Favre ?

Re: Vick can sign, may have to sit four games

Well, he's not my top choice for a QB even though I think he should be given the chance. He was never a pocket passer and it wasn't until his last few yrs they tried to make him one and I don't think it worked out. He's more of the "Run and shoot" or "Fun and Gun" style of QB. I don't know of any team still using that style anymore. Most are using some semblance of the WCO.

So the only other reason to pick him up would be if you were looking to use the "Wild Cat." Which teams used it? Which teams used it succesfully? and Which teams are looking to use it in the future? These are the teams who could use him.
Miami picked up a QB for this purpose out of the draft.
Maybe NE.

The Skins have not shown interest in using the Wild Cat so unless they are looking to ditch TC then I see no value MV has to the Skins.

He might work out in Minn. San Fran. Maybe even Houston. I'm not sure what style offense Detroit is going to run. He might work out for the Rams.

The NFL network was talking about Jacksonville maybe could utilize him.

Seems like a really fair deal to me, although the battle is just beginning for him. First step will be actually getting signed. I have a feeling if someone ends up picking him up before the season starts it will be someone we don't expect.

As far as I am concerned Vick can go anywhere but Washington.

Wherever he goes he will bring a media circus. I don't know if you want that in a backup. Therefore someone who wants him to start may take him. Maybe someone like Tampa.

However, he hasn't played a down in some time. I'm not sure that he would be effective, at least at first, even in the Wildcat. I'd make the same argument regarding his shift to another position, etc.

I'm surprised that he only got 4 weeks suspension.

I don't want him here. Not because of the media frenzy that would follow the team but I don't think he's mentally ready for what he's going to face (media, fans, etc.).

Id love to see Vic as a redskin, he already knows the WestCoast Offense.
For everyone saying no to Vic!!! Then who takes the reins if Campbell doesnt
show he's worthy??? Todd Collins(NOT..the offense has changed and he isnt a West Coast guy) Colt Brennan(If he was ready he'd be atleast the primary backup already)

Bring in VIC, hes a vet (at minimum hes the cheapest starting caliber backup QB out there),

Got to be honest, if Vick came to Washington I might have to look for another team to pull for. I have been a Skins fan since I was five years old, but I do not know if I could support them if Vick came aboard.

I am not so sure about that Matty. I know of people who have done things more serious, people in the league ,who have not spent the better part of three years of their life incarcerated and lost potentially more than a hundred million dollars. I DO NOT CONDONE WHAT HE DID ONE IOTA, but sentiments aside, human life is the most precious thing. There are people in many cities and rural communities that are obviously neglecting, beating, fighting, and abusing their animals and we are lucky if they are given a summons and the animals are taken away. I know this. This guy did something very wrong, he HAD to pay a price, it was a very high price, the highest price anybody has ever paid for that enterprise. If he is remorseful, I think he should be allowed to try to repair his life, his name, and his conscience...just not in Washington.

On the Dan Patrick show today they spent a lot of time talking about how the Skins were the most likely team to take him. One of the comments was, "They don't have any players that can take it to the house. The need a play-maker". The only other team they mentioned was the Raiders. Sucks that the Skins are mentioned in the same sentence with the Raiders when it comes to flashy free agent signings.
