Great article about the D, Willams and Pierce

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004Sep24.html

I have to say maybe Daseal is right after all, Pierce seems to be a real find and if Barrow misses more time (which it looks like he will), there doesn't seem much reason to take Pierce out of the lineup. It's fun to watch him during the game, constantly coming up to the line to make sure the lineman are in the right spots, tapping guys to slide over, etc.

Pierce seems to be the perfect fit for this defense, an extension of Williams on the field.

Michael who? LOL

Great article. Pierce has been a starting callibre linebacker for some time. I'd like to see him play all year.

I've got to hurt m credibility, eat a lot of crow and bring up some things I said in the offseason that we totally wrong.

First I said I was positive our run defense would stink. WRONG!

Then I said that although Pierce was a good backup, he'd never be a good starting LB. VERY WRONG!

I might think I know a thing or two bout the 'Skins, but I also know that oftentimes, I'm just dead wrong and don't see what others on the site observe. That's why I'm here; everyone is a true 'Skins fan and educates me about things that I'm ignorant of.

Antonio has done a great job the last few years as a back up and I knew given the chance, he'd be a great starter. He had a problem in the past with stupid penalties because he'd get so fired up, but now that he's the defensive leader I think he realizes he can't do that. He has to set the example for the rest of them. He is doing a great job and I hope he remains a starter! Bring on Dallas!@!

Even for someone that likes Pierce and thought he had potential, it's very impressive that he has stepped playing MLB....a position he hadn't played before (in the NFL at least).
