Question Should we sign Greg Ellis?

i was thinking about the Strong linebacker situation we are having. Im a supporter of Rak playing there in the beginning of his career. It takes less thinking and to play DE. DE is a position he can always go back to. I'd rather him start his career with a hard learning curve and master it then to give him a small one. I think in order to get the best production out of Rak at linebacker, he should learn behind a veteran. We have no experience at the SLB position. Would it make sense to sign Ellis under these circumstances. Cambell is gone. I love H.B. but not for experience and not for big playmaking. Could Ellis be a one year stop gap? If he perfoms for a contract let someone else pay him the big bucks.
