New York Giants reach long-term deal with Brandon Jacobs

Andrew Mill/The Star-LedgerThe Giants locked up running back Brandon Jacobs on a multi-year deal Wednesday, according to Jacobs' agent.
Schulman declined to provide specifics, but someone familiar with the contract said the contract includes $13 million guaranteed and Jacobs will be paid $15 million in the first two years of the deal.
"I was confident all along that this was going to get done - I didn't panic one bit," Jacobs said in the Giants' press release. "I know the reason we did it the way we did; I knew I was going to be here. I was super-confident and I am here. I'm happy about it.

He was franchised anyway, so regardless he was going to be Giant next year.

If I was a mod this would be locked. It's news but could have been posted in a existing thread. certainly not worthy of a Warpath thread of its own. IMO

blah blah blah. He'll have his standard mid-season injury and w/o Ward the G-Men will grind to a halt on offense. If Jacobs is injured even more than usual I'll bet NY doesn't make the playoffs this year... yeah it's February and I said it.

How is this not news? Something doesn't have to be Earth shattering to still be thread worthy, that's not the standard. If it was, Samuels restructures wouldn't be thread worthy either since we knew that was coming too.

Well its better then the repeated should we draft this guy or that guy threads that get started everyday. He is in our divsion and someone we will have to contend with at least once a year when he is not hurt.

dj, your my boy. I said it was news in my post. I just did'nt see the need for a G-Boy to make a thread about it here. I just suggested it be posted in a existing thread as much of the Redskins news is. Glad the Giants kept their franchise player. did'nt see that was coming!
