The first line of his resume should read...My name is not Vinny Cerrato.

Re: RUMOR: Bruce Allen to Redskins?

I havent spent alot of time looking at this, but here is his draft history, from nfl.com:
NFL Draft History: Full Draft - by Team

Quote:

2008
1 20 Aqib Talib CB Kansas
2 58 Dexter Jackson WR Appalachian State
3 83 Jeremy Zuttah G Rutgers
4 115 Dre Moore DT Maryland

4 106 Tanard Jackson FS Syracuse
5 141 Greg Peterson DT North Carolina Central
6 182 Adam Hayward LB Portland State
7 214 Chris Denman T Fresno State
7 245 Marcus Hamilton CB Virginia
7 246 Kenneth Darby RB Alabama

2006
1 23 Davin Joseph G Oklahoma
2 59 Jeremy Trueblood T Boston College
3 90 Maurice Stovall WR Notre Dame
4 122 Alan Zemaitis CB Penn State
5 156 Julian Jenkins DE Stanford
6 194 Bruce Gradkowski QB Toledo

3 91 Chris Colmer T North Carolina State
4 107 Dan Buenning G Wisconsin
5 141 Donte Nicholson DB Oklahoma
5 155 Larry Brackins -- Pearl River CC MS
6 178 Anthony Bryant DT Alabama
7 221 Rick Razzano RB Mississippi
7 225 Paris Warren WR Utah
7 231 Hamza Abdullah DB Washington State
7 253 J.R. Russell WR Louisville

20041 15 Michael Clayton WR Louisiana State
3 79 Marquis Cooper LB Washington
4 111 Will Allen SAF Ohio State
5 146 Jeb Terry G North Carolina
6 181 Nate Lawrie TE Yale
7 206 Mark Jones WR Tennessee
7 228 Casey Cramer RB Dartmouth
7 252 Lenny Williams CB Southern University
I'm not too familiar with alot of these players, but one thing that jumps out at me is that he doesnt trade draft picks. (Tampa Bay did not have their 2004 1st and 2nd rounders because the team had previously traded picks to Oakland to acquire Gruden.)

That's basically my point. Who's to say this guy would be any better?? He's only been a GM in the NFL since 2004.

Yea but arn't you at the point where you just want anyone new? If not why? We have had 10+ years of subpar football and we have tried replacing everyone else but him? Maybe it's not all his fault but isn't it worth a shot?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. His drafts in TB were pretty unremarkable. If the answer is because he's not Vinny, that's not really a great reason to me to go after him.

Yeah, pro or con he is a Buccaneer castoff. So they must of rid themselves of him for some reason. I would like to know more about him though before I start wholesale endorsing.

I do like the fact that he isn't yet neutered by Danny. He still has his balls until he signs a contract. If somehow he can keep his balls away from Snyder he'll be a good hire.

Well, he WAS the only period of competency in Oakland between 1994 and present day. He's been tied to Gruden's hip since he's been in the business.

I think he's the model for finding talented veterans that no one else wants, but I wouldn't give him total control of my football team.

This rumor seems to make way too much sense to be true. I think it's fabricated.
