Mock Database Update
NFL Mock Draft Database
Ok, Warpath, we now have 120 mock drafts listed for 2009 and 68 of which have been updated since 1/1/09. Of the mock drafts listed in the last few days, OT Jason Smith seems to be a popular choice. Two professional scouts I talk to with professional scouting firms, who contact is often because of the Database, think Jason Smith is a good fit as well. me? Not convinced that Snyderrato is not going to trade down out of 13, and given the fact we have 4 picks, I think that is a great idea if they can get the right deal. I like Jason Smith alot, but we have too many needs to have just 4 picks. Trading Rogers and trading down could yield two to three additional picks. Now, you can also have some fun as well. Go tto the database and vote in the new poll. Voet for who will be the first QB taken in the draft.

Re: Mock Database Update
This database is great, but is it possible to make it sortable? I'd love to be able to look at all the A+ Types together, or easily see who is thinking Jason Smith, or sort by date, etc. Thanks
As for Jason Smith, he's the name du jour these days for the Redskins. And he'd be a great chocice. But I somehow doubt they'll stand pat at 13 if they can avoid it

Re: Mock Database Update
This is what Football Expert has
13. Washington Redskins - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor The Redskins' really need to upgrade its DL, and with a surplus of talent still available it is very tempting for them to draft DEs Michael Johnson or Greg Hardy, or DTs Peria Jerry or B.J. Raji, but with that surplus of talent, they can afford to draft DL in the 2nd round and focus on their aging OL and take the last of the "elite" OTs in the draft in Smith. Smith is not the household name that the other 3 are because he played at Baylor, but many say he could actually be the best of the 4. Jon Jansen is near the end of his career, Chris Samuels is coming back from an injury. There are also questions at guard, and basically if you care about your quarterback Jason Campbell you worry about his protection and draft Smith and that is just what the 'Skins do. We dont have a 2nd round pick, will this change when they figure this out??

Yes. He's the brother of Derrick, now with the Bills.

Re: Mock Database Update
Even though we only have 4 picks, if a future LT is available at 13 they've got to think awfully hard about that. If it's a guy that can replace Samuels in a few years while playing RT immediately, I'm for staying pat at 13.
If they don't feel that guy is there at 13 then by all means trade & move back. I think Detroit w/the #1 & 20 picks plus an extra 3rd & 6th it got from dallas might be willing to deal. Their GM is our old CB Martin Mayhew. Wonder what he thinks of the Skins mgmt now? An ideal trade would be our pick for the #20 & their extra 3rd, which is later in the draft. If we could get one of the top OTs at 20 that would really be a bonus. I would love to see a great DE drafted high, but they seem to have high bust potential & are not as safe a pick as highly rated OTs. What does everyone think about addressing the pass rush w/OLB? |

This draft appears deep in OL & DL. I'd love to have our 2nd round pick because it was the highest of the 8-8 teams so we had an edge in value there. Those Miami bastards have to be licking their chops to have the 13th in the 2nd round as a bonus pick. ... I'm really starting to get traders remoarse with giving that 2nd rounder to the Dolphins. Hopefully someone wants to trade up into our spot because we are in dire need of additional picks in this deep draft.
