Frank Herzog Returns To The AIr

WTEM (980 AM) just announced that they have hired Frank Herzog to do a one-hour postgame show after all the Redskin games. He'll come on after Andy Pollin and Joe Jacoby do their thing.

I like Frank Herzog.

It will be good to be able to listen to him again this year - - even if he won't be able to call out, "Touchdown - - Washington Redskins."

Even though I can't hear him. I'm glad he is back with the Redskins!

yeah it will be a caller intensive show. He'll also be doing some work for WTOP 1500 AM. Frank's a good dude I wish him well.

I still don't know why WJFK fired Herzog. I guess it was something to do with attracting a younger audience, thats BULLSHIT. Ive seen on the net a whole bunch of sites trying to petition Herzog back to WJFK. If I were him I'd try to convince someone at 980 to get the play by play for the Skins in one way or another. To me Frank Herzog was and always will be the voice of the Redskins. Anyway I'm really glad to see that he will still be apart of the skins in one way or another.

What is up with Charles Mann and EL something or other doing the post game for WJFK? Is Earl Forsee, I guess that's how you spell his name, gone? Correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't really know the whole story here about Forsee. I listened to I think the post game after the Panthers game and Charles and EL something or other were not that great. In fact I thought it was lousy. I think Charles should stick to car and Swanson Hungry-man pot pie commercials.

I think that WJKK's attempts to increase ratings will in the long run LOSE ratings for them. What goes around, comes around.

Brute44:

There was a BIG Washington Post article on the new announcing team and how it all happened earlier this week. Check it out.

As you might imagine, there are corporate suits and lots of intrigue involved.

Frank's a good friend of mine. Well maybe not good friend, but a friend nonetheless. We talked a couple of days ago about the start of the new season and his new role, or lack thereof.

He's got mixed feelings. It's a bit odd for him to not be traveling with the team and doing play-by-play. But the job can be exhausting, although a lot of that these past few years, can be attributed to the team sucking. But he's known that Larry Michael has been after his job for years and he can finally not worry about LM breathing down his back, and now he can spend more time with his daughters, and for the first time in over 30 years spend more time doing next to nothing (he'll probably spend some more time with his hobby-photography)

back in the gibbs hey days,my buddies and i would turn down the tv volume and turn up frank, sunny, and sam.i can't imagine listening to anybody else descibe a rollout and a long touchdown pass by anybody but frank herzog.i remember a few times during the very unspectacular heath shuler era i heard frank say something like"shuler throwing to the guy in the front row"and sunny coming in like clockwork saying"yeah, and he overthrew him again".
