Cooley, our answer to Jeremy Shockey

I really like this guy. He caught 2 passes in the first series of the Atlanta game.

It took 3 or more guys to taclkle him.

Now I can't dicide whether to get a Coles Jersey , a Cooley Jersey or a Sean Taylor Jersey.

When we drafted him and I saw the highlight's of him, I thought he was much better than people where giving him credit for, take a look at all the h-back's / TE's, and this kid win's the starting job, if he stay's healthy he will be the kind of player that other teams hate, because he will be a clutch player, I disagree with the Shockey comparison though, he's much smarter.

I don't know if Cooley is our Shockey. I hate Shockey but he is top 3 in the league and I don't know if I see Cooley reaching that level.

Cooley doesn't have the same skills as Shockey, let's face it when Shockey is healthy he's a freak, the only TE's that are in the same boat are Heap, Gonzalez and most likely KWII will join them. Cooley won't be featured in this offense like those guys are, if he sees 30 catches and 4 TD's that will be a quality season for him.

That being said, Cooley looks like he's going to be a great fit for this offense. He can block, he's smart, he can catch and make some things happen after the catch.

Gibbs knows TE's and H-backs. He obviously saw something in Cooley that made him feel comfortable enough to pass on a monster like KWII, take Taylor instead and trade up to grab Cooley later on.

i seem to be disagreeing with you the past few posts ive seen that you made. NO WAY HE'S TOP 3. cant be possible cause he cant stay on the field.

no particular order:

tony g
mcmichael
boo williams
crumpler
bubba franks
heap
billy miller
freddie jones

just to name a few i think are the same caliber and some much better based on blocking, recieving and last but not least DURABILITY

lol, youre crazy if you think Shockey is just media hype. When has the media ever said one good thing about shockey. They jsut talk aobut his love for boobs and how he runs his mouth. But you cant argue with the fact that he pushed linebackers down like they were stickfigures and makes plays happen. Hes had the injury bug ever since he was in the NFL but ify ou think he is overrated and not that good then you need to start watching football more, then make an assesment.
