Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread

Well folks it's finally game day....whoo-hoo!

And we are getting ready to get in the car and make the road trip to DC to see our beloved Redskins on this beautiful Monday....take care of business against those steelers! 7-2 would be very sweet!

Lets GO REDSKINS!

Thoughts.......

Week 9

What time does the game start? 8 or 8:30? I'm trying to be home by 8:30 so I don't miss too much..

That sums up my day so far. I can't sit still, and I can't focus. I haven't been this nervous before a game in a long time (this may be the 3rd or 4th time I've said that this season ). Election Eve, live from the Nation's Capital, a massive game, tons of injuries, a psyched up home crowd, two viscious defenses, the possibilty of a 7-2 record heading into the bye... HO-LEE-SHIT. It's a monster game. I just stood up at my desk. Again. I could probably put my head through a wall right now and not feel it.

This a golden opportunity to show the country what we're made of on what's bound to be a hugely watched MNF game.

8:30 Is the scheduled start for the broadcast. But kickoff usually is 8:35ish.

I know!!! After that last national fiasco in NYC we need to show the nation what we can do.

One thing to be happy about... the scouts at ESPN have our special teams ahead of Pitt's. I am finally not super worried that we will screw this one up by botching a punt coverage.

Funny because back in August if someone would have said the Skins would be 6-3 at the bye, I think all of us would have gladly taken that.

A loss isn't the end of the world, the stretch after the bye with the division games is far more critical.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread

I know that Pittsburg is a good team, and they are 5-2, but who has looked at their record in depth?

HOU 17 @ PIT 38
PIT 10 @ CLE 6
PIT 6 @ PHI 15
BAL 20 @ PIT 23
PIT 26 @ JAC 21
PIT 38 @ CIN 10
NYG 21 @ PIT 14

So, 5 wins against Houston, Cleveland, Baltimore, Jacksonville, and Cinncinati. Only one team with a winning record (The Ravens).

2 losses against the NFC East.

Is there anyone who thinks that maybe their impressive record could be the result of a relatively easy schedule?

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread

This is a huge game.
This is the type of game that will put players in the probowl.
If rogers wants to go to Hawaii, He is going to have to catch atleast one ball today. The same goes for Landry, If he can outplay Palomalu, he might be able to make it to hawaii too! If he plays...

If we win this game, He go into the second half trying to overtake the giants as division leaders.
If we lose this game, we try to hold onto the wild card spot with the Beagles and Cowbitches breathing down our necks.

We need to win this game!!!

Certainly true... hell even when we were 2-1 headed to Dallas 6-3 would have been a dream. But when you sit at 6-2 and realize you can reverse this seasonal 3rd quarter trend... you really hope for that 7th before you get the week off.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread

This is a big game and don't hate at me for saying this but, i think we dont have all that much to lose, but we have a lot to gain. If we lose we have 12 days to fix it while if we win we are 7-2 with 7 left to play. I'm not going to be in a panic if we are 6-3.

This is a day (and possibly tomorrow) when myself and my employer would be better served if I had taken the day off..........
