Does anybody believe in the "Redskins curse"?

Just wondering if anybody actually took the notion seriously that the native americans have cursed the redskins in the past 10 plus years...
lame thread i know but some spooky things have happened..

1. we get the best defensive player in the league and he passes away (RIP)
2. players that have been superstars elsewhere have been complacent here.
3. limited playoff appearances, with no sucess
4. spurrier "5-11 not very good"
5. our never ending qb carousel.
6. cap problems
7. injuries sometimes in a freakish manner when it appears we are n the cusp.

i could go on and on.
should we repent?

Pretty much sums it up.

Saying it's a curse is taking the easy way out. There are plenty of logical reasons to explain everything raised above.

Re: Does anybody believe in the "Redskins curse"?

ive met some people that really take this seriously. Im sure there are logical reasons for everything in this world. It may be the painkillers im on today. i was just curious to know if there was anybody on this site that really believes that the native americans did that.
But geezzz....
i just want to feel some love in this area again..we cant hang on to the glorious 80s forever here.

Re: Does anybody believe in the "Redskins curse"?

With all due respect to Mr. Taylor, he was not the best defensive player in the league. He could have been one day, but we'll never know.

There is no curse. We've had a run of about 10 years w/ a bad FO making bad decisions.

Lot's of other teams that don't have Brady, Manning, McNabb, Roth, or Favre have had a QB carousel like we've had.

Other then number one, most teams if not all have similar problems. IT is overcoming that makes us/them champions. Plus you need to define sucess, winning the Super Bowl is a very rare thing. For us to have done it three times regardless of how long ago is a real testament.

Re: Does anybody believe in the "Redskins curse"?

I would call this a pessimist's point of view. The optimist's point of view would be.

1. Making the playoffs 3 years in a row when so-called "experts" forecast otherwise.
2. Overcoming the adversity of losing Sean Taylor, and going on a winning streak with a backup QB to make the post season.
3. Still remaining extremely competetive is the toughest division in the NFL despite all the nagging injuries that would hamper any other team in the league.
4. Having player WILLING to restructure to help the teams cap rather than "test free agency" because they have another agenda.

I could go on and on, but there is always more than one way to address adversity. Either it is positive or negative, the choice is yours.

Don't believe in it. It's Norv Turners fault.

Unless Dan Snyder is Native American we aren't under an Indian curse.

All of the things that you mentioned have taken place under the Dan Snyder reign. The most influential variable that has taken place in the last ten years is the change of ownership.

I'm not knocking Snyder. I don't mind our franchise's course right now, but everything you mentioned except ST has some underlying effect from the heirarchy above. Snyder maybe met some bumps in the road but it's certainly not attributed to a Indian curse.
