Schmitt Out of Luck
FB Pete Schmitt was released today (apparently by his own request) and in turn the Redskins have signed former Hokie Safety Justin Hamilton.
I don't know much about Hamilton but I know there are some VT fans on here. So what do you think? camp body or legit threat to Moore and Horton? Redskins sign ex-Hokie Justin Hamilton - News - inRich.com

Now that is a properly thought out title.

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
Chris Horton has a spot on the team and I'm anxious to see Moore play. I have to say Hamilton is a camp body. I'm surprised they brought him back. Wasn't he let go to make room for Schweigert? Is Omar Stoutmire still available? I wonder why he hasn't been asked back.

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
Zorn said Schmitt quit, walked off the field. Guess he felt his chances were pretty futile.

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
I would say Justin Hamilton is just a camp body. I seriously doubt that he's a threat to any of our safeties. Obviously Horton had an impressive showing against the Colts, and there has been a lot of talk lately about how well Kareem Moore is doing.

Honestly, I wish I could give you positive rep for the thread title.

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
He is a camp body, however necessity might get him placed on the practice squad.

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
We had a thread on him when he was signed earlier.
Hamilton is a good athlete but never seemed to have the edge to play defense & doesn't seem to adjust well in coverage. I'm a Hokie so I had high hopes for him, but after we drafted a couple safeties & seeing Horton the other night, you've got to figure that JH is a longshot & would make it as a special teamer, which he could excel at. |

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
i said this in the other thread on hamilton, i go to tech so im not hating on him for any particular reason other than that he isnt very good. he was a running back and became a safety, he just isnt good. seriously doubt he makes the team

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
hamilton sucks. an athlete without a position that has some meager talent, but did nothing in college.

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
Good riddance to you, Schmitt. I don't care if you didn't think you had a chance, you man up and finish the practice. Clearly, Schmitt doesn't have what it takes to play football.

Re: Schmitt Out of Luck
why the hate? damn.
someone decides struggling for years to make practice squad money during the summer isn't worth the beating and year round work? good for him i guess. maybe he's got something else lined up and doesn't need the hassle for well below nfl minimum wages. |
