Figured I'd save the rest of you the trouble of starting the inevitable Colt Brennan must start thread.

Well if Collins keeps preforming like tonight, Colts got at least a shot a 2.

Re: OT: Omg! Wtf! Lol! Colt Brennan Is So 1337
collins sucked last preseason too, but he'll be alright.
honestly i don't want to waste playing time on devine at all right now. he has no shot, just cut him and give brennan or collins more playing time to learn this thing. if brennan can play like that against a 1st string unit, i'd gladly welcome him as our #2, but while he was definitely impressive, I don't think he'd do quite as well with freeney and a certain safety playing against him. No reason not to give him a chance or more playing time though. Last edited by That Guy; 08-04-2008 at 08:24 AM. |

Great thread title
I've been wondering for a while now if Collins' struggles (combined with comfort in Campbell's health, abilities, and experience) might bump him down to #3 but have been reluctant to say so. I doubt Colt will move up to #2, but he should at least get some snaps against 1st stringers this preseason. Agree about Devine. Why waste any more time with him

1. Campbell
2. Brennan 3. Uh....Oh, OK, Collins. Just based on his rescue job last season. Brennan will be a nice back-up to Campbell. Collins looks a little lost in the new scheme, as did Devine. |

I'm not hopping on that bandwagon just yet lol. I'd try and give Brennan some snaps against 1st stringers though. Definitely agree about Devine. And looks like Collins has the same learning curve as the rest of them, I'd give him this season as the #2 and then hopefully Brennan steps up and takes the #2 job from him next season.

Re: OT: Omg! Wtf! Lol! Colt Brennan Is So 1337
Colt played well but consider a couple of things. He was playing against scrubs, he had WRs running wide freaking open. That's not going to happen against first stringers. But I did like his accuracy, when he saw a guy he hit him.
Secondly, he locks on to his WRs big time. That's to be expected from a young QB but there's no way he's ready to start or even be the #2. Collins to me appeared to be very hesitant in his decision making, but I think once he gets up to speed in the offense he's going to be fine. |

He looked good but I'll wait until I see a few more passes before I pass any judgement.

Re: OT: Omg! Wtf! Lol! Colt Brennan Is So 1337
lol at this thread. come on man, colt looked good against the guys he lined up against and im happy he performed well. is this wrong that i liked what i saw from colt with his sidearm?
and i hope collins stays as our #2, im a big believer in having a veteran back up a developing qb like JC. as we have seen injuries happen in this league |

Re: OT: Omg! Wtf! Lol! Colt Brennan Is So 1337
Anyone who payed any attention to college football knew that Colt Brennan was more than capable of doing this against NFL 2nd and 3rd teamers. I mean, the big knock on him is the level of competition he saw in college, and he really didn't answer that last night.
I think though, when we drafted him, there wasn't any doubt that he was good enough to do this. There is still doubt that once he's on film, that he'll ever be able to adapt to the speed and adjustment ability of NFL defenses, but this performance hardly surprised me. The guy has only been doing it the last three years.
