Re: Did the Vikes Make Contact With Favre?

Yes, its rumored that one of the Vike's coaches contacted Brett and that against the tampering rules. I think the vikes coach was an x packers coach.

Edit: I thought your question was "Did The Vikes Make Contract With Brett" So I edited my answer.

Look, the Packers admit sending coach Campen to talk with Farve, and then also claim that they only sent him down to see Farve as a friend and not as a representative of the Packers. Therefore, using that same logic, if the Vikings sent the coach on a mission to talk with Farve as a friend, then the Vikings are totally innocent, or a least as innocent as their accusers. Verdicts: Packers, Guilty, and Vikings, Innocent.

P.S. Innocent in Websters: 2 a: lacking or reflecting a lack of sophistication, guile, or self-consciousnes

Well, I guess in that definition, Packers, Innocent, and Vikings, Guilty.

Good post IMO. It confused and therefore, it brightened my day.

I think the coach was calling Favre so they could watch Jeopardy together and continue playing that time honored classic drinking game, Jeopardy For Shots!

Or maybe Favre was calling him to find out what he put in his lasagna that made it so dang tasty. Or it could be that Favre was telling him about his favorite drink, the Wisconsin lunchbox.

if the guy had retired, and it damn sure looks like he did if he has to be reinstated by the league, why can't they talk to him about anything?if he's not in the league, wtf is the big deal?as much as i like favre, they need more than just him if they wish to make the playoffs.last year, their corners got ate up.

He is still under contract with the Packers, even though he retired, so no other teams can contact him. Its a fine line, but the 49ers got nailed for something similar last year with Lance Briggs FanHouse. Since they have the smoking gun of all those phone calls, I would expect Sheriff Goddell to lay down the law in this case as well.

Re: Did the Vikes Make Contact With Favre?

From what I understand the coach he reportedly spoke with is a good friend of him and was his QB coach for quite some time. The Packers are trying to deflect blame at this point. They don't want Brett back, they don't want anyone else to have him either.

Redskinsfanatic, seriously? They made it to the NFC Championship game against the Giants last year. They haven't lost anything and they have a young team with valuable playoff experience under their belt. While I think Rogers will be solid, he is no Favre. Lets also remember, Brett Favre has that consecutive game streak going (One of the more impressive records in sports, IMO. Cal was good, but a baseball player cant relate to what a football player does.) Rogers has already been hurt twice in his NFL career in limited playing time, that isn't a good sign.

I love this thread title by the way. It makes it sound like Favre is some sort of alien from beyond the rings of Saturn. We have made contact with the life form Favre!
