Jags land Pierson Prioleau
PP gets picked up by Jags and is reunited with Gregg Williams. I wish him the best a class act.
Jaguars sign Prioleau in search of depth at safety JAGS LAND PRIOLEAU Posted by Mike Florio on April 30, 2008, 3:50 p.m. The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to look for ways to limit the pinball-machine offense from Indy. The latest acquisition? Veteran safety Pierson Prioleau, signed presumably to a one-year deal. The 30-year-old from Virginia Tech has extensive experience with Jags defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in Washington (where Williams ran the defense) and Buffalo (where Williams ran the team). Prioleau started every game for the Bills in 2002. He was poised to be a starter for the Redskins across from the late Sean Taylor in 2006, but Prioleau tore an ACL on the opening kickoff of the Week One Monday nighter against the Vikings. For his career, Prioleau has appeared in 113 games, starting 47 of them.

Sad to see him go. He was a good guy on many levels.

Re: Jags land Pierson Prioleau
Think it might have been better to keep him over Reed Doughty?

Re: Jags land Pierson Prioleau
No, because Reed probably wouldn't have been burned by DJ Hackett, that badly atleast.

No not at all. I think Reed has really stepped up as a player for this team with only two seasons under his belt, and last year he was our starting strong safety after the Sean tragedy and played well in that role and strong teamer as well. I believe Reed has a bright future with the Skins, he will only get better. PP did a decent job while here (even after that tough injury), but I also think the writing was on the wall for his future here or lack there of. It was time, and great timing for him with Gregg moving most had a feeling all along this move was coming. Wish him well in Jags land! Except when we play them...of course.

Re: Jags land Pierson Prioleau
He would not have started over Doughty. The Colorado Kid has size advantage, good instincts, and from what commentators have said a massive strength advantage. PP was a good backup and could be missed if we had an injury at safety, but I'm glad he'll get to work under GW.
