ole ball coach in Baltimore

Just saw on comcast that Steve Spurrier was at the Ravens camp this morning watching practice. They said he was there to give them a critique(sp). He also said that he would like to coach again soon on the college level.Maybe sometime in a year or two.

What? Are fucking serious? Are they paying him for that? Do you think I can get a job with them?

See, what they really are doing is asking for his opinion and then doing the opposite...That's the best thing to do.

Modell should be furious! The last person I'd want hanging around my NFL team is Spurrier. Maybe they want him to show them HOW TO RUN AN OFFENSE!!!!

well, SS's offense was definately better then what the raven's have been able to work out... as long as they don't let him fire jamal, it might even work out

but i think he just wanted to see how other (good) nfl teams run things, which would actually be a really encouraging thing, even if its 2 years too late.

I thought Brian Billick was a self described "offensive genius." God I hate that guy

I thought he was just watching his ex-players.....like Travis Taylor. I'm not sure who else on the Ravens is an ex-Gator. It wouldn't surprise me if he was giving them some tips. They were the worst passing offense in the league last year. Hopefully he's giving them tips on blocking schemes!

'Mr. awww shucks' giving 'Billick the braniac' advice? Now that's comedy!

I can see it now, "Brian, your main problem is your running the ball too damn much, you gotta start pitching it around, it's such a nice day for some pitch and catch! And what's with all this hittin' and practicin'? Just coach 'em up for a little while and go play 9. What's that you got in your hand there, a playbook? You don't need that, just draw up some ball plays in the dirt, the system works!"

By the way, I also heard that Bruce Smith was out at Vikings training camp a couple of weeks ago working with the defensive line

Actually, Modell sold the team this off season and has retired.

The Madden cover curse begins as the Ravens are en route to a 5-11 season...

The Post had a good riddance poll up the other day, not sure if it's still there but Smith was the clear winner.

His selfish attitude at the end was pretty disgusting.

5-11? you're far underestimating the sheer genius of billick's offense and the unquestioned might of spurrier's D.
