WT: The Five Games The Redskins Should Win
First Down - - Breaking News, Political News & National Security News - The Washington Times
1. Sept. 14 vs. New Orleans: The Redskins will have 10 days to rest up. It's the home opener. The Saints couldn't stop anybody last year. Reggie Bush is overrated. No excuses here. 2. Sept. 21 vs. Arizona: This game precedes road games against Dallas and Philadelphia. The Cardinals still will be the same old Cardinals until they prove otherwise. 3. Oct. 12 vs. St. Louis: Old friend Al Saunders returns to FedEx, so maybe the Rams can light it up offensively. The problem is they stink on defense, so the Redskins will outlast St. Louis. 4. Oct. 26 at Detroit: The Lions will never be good as long as Matt Millen is in charge of their front office. This will be the Redskins' fourth road game and potentially Jim Zorn's first road victory. 5. Dec. 14 at Cincinnati: The Bengals will be in the toilet, and Chad Johnson will be counting off the days until he can leave town. Marvin Lewis has yet to build a decent defense.

Doesn't this contradict the other thread you just started about how it's impossible to forecast how the schedule will work out?

Re: WT: The Five Games The Redskins Should Win
1. The Saints were not a bad team 2yrs ago. Maybe last yr was an off yr and they get their "itshay" together.
2. Cardinals were not to bad last yr. This being the second yr in their new scheme and maybe they do better. Might be a problem for us. but they are the Cardinals. 3. If there is anyone left on the Rams that remember Al's system them we may struggle. The Rams did their best when he was running the offense. Remember the greatest show on turf? 4. Last yr the Lions were on a winning streak until they met the Skins. They looked unstoppable. Maybe they work out their kinks and get their "itshay" together also. 5. You left out the fact that it would be nice to see CJ as a Skin and totally embarrassing his old team. LOL. |

Whoa! What about the home game after your bye week? At FedEx vs Dallas. Two weeks to prepare due to the bye. And when was the last time Dallas actually WON a game at FedEx?
I would at least list that as a PUSH if not a win. |

I agree those are 5 very winnable games on paper. But you never really know. A few of these teams could very easily be better than expected.

Re: WT: The Five Games The Redskins Should Win
About three of those games are games that the Redskins will be a push in at best, and probably an underdog
The Cards will improve on 8-8 from last year. The Rams will be coming off their bye week when we play them. And the Bengals are a lot better than us on paper right now, and we will have to prove a lot to change that. I agree about NO and DET though.

This 'tidbit' from the Times is absurd. Good thing nothing ever changes in the NFL so comments like these aren't completely worthless

I just re-post what's been written without any editorial comments. Plus, I actually posted this one first.

I'm just amazed KB24 has managed to start 18 threads in a month's time.

Re: WT: The Five Games The Redskins Should Win
What can I say? I LOVE the site and I want to make positive contributions here. There will be more cheerleader threads, if you find that acceptable?

Re: WT: The Five Games The Redskins Should Win
The funny thing is with the Giants we get them on the road for the first game which is great because they really struggled at Giants stadium last year. And on top of that we play all three division opponents at home during the second half of the season, and if we're on the verge of a playoff run then the final game in SF will be a blessing. I expect the same thing I always expect, fast start, bad middle, strong finish.
