Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
ESPN - Source: Falcons to trade Hall for Raiders' second-round pick in '08 draft - NFL
I think some of you can breathe a little easier now. Source: Falcons to trade Hall for Raiders' second-round pick in '08 draft By Chris Mortensen ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: March 15, 2008, 5:39 PM ET ![]() The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement in principle with the Oakland Raiders to trade cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the Raiders' second-round pick in the 2008 draft, pending the Raiders finalizing a contract with Hall, according to a source close to the Falcons. Hall is close to agreeing to a contract with the Raiders that will pay him just below what Asante Samuel signed with the Eagles, according to the source. Samuel signed a six-year deal worth a reported $57 million, with $20 million guaranteed. Hall is a former first-rounder taken with the eighth pick in the 2004 draft. Chris Mortensen covers the NFL for ESPN. Mods: Thanks for the title change

Interesting move for the Raiders. As for the Falcons, they don't get the 1st rounder they wanted but they do now have three high to mid picks in round 2.

ST21:
Fabian Washington was a high draft pick but hasn't set the world on fire since arriving in the NFL. Maybe he's worth keeping around as a nickel back but he is part of the reason that the Raiders defense was "less than robust" last year.

Yea, but the kind of speed that he has, you just gotta keep him around because he won't get burnt by too many guys.

Where does this signing put Asomugha? Forget Hall, I would trade Asomugha for a first round pick in a heart beat.

Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
WTF? I thought the giants were willing to trade their 1st. For a talent such as Hall, a 2nd is too low. The raiders are dumb as shit with everything they do.

He got the exclusive tag, so he's not going anywhere in 2008

Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
The picks are only three slots apart and the Giants obiously backed out. From that perspective its not really to big a deal.

9mill per for a possible locker room cancer? bad deal.
talent's right, but guaranteeing that much money on a guy that might cause problems is a real gamble. |

Yeah he can have all the talent in the world but when he is busy getting consecutive 15 yarders and pissing the entire lockeroom off all that talent pale's.
