John Daly...what a mess

ESPN - Daly out of Arnold Palmer Invitational day after Harmon blast - Golf

I normally would not comment as to the state of this dudes life........However, I have watched it for long time (like many others). It seriously bothers me to see such a talented guy toss is all away, either fast like Michael Vick, or agonizingly slow like Daly.
Alcohol, gambling, etc., sounds like a pretty good time, but bad for the Golf outing!
When Butch Harmon kicks your ass to the curb, and calls you out publicly, your in trouble.
John will either spiral down....fast, or go to Betty Ford! Good luck to him!
What a shame....

Re: John Daly...what a mess

Pretty sad day for Mr. Daly. He was one of my favorite golfers about 7 yr's ago but there has to come a time when you just grow up and put your priorities in order. I heard he spent most of the day before at the Hooters tent instead of working on his swing. Witch I can understand if he wasn't in the tournament but he was.

I don't think it is a question of maturity. The guy has a disease called alcoholism.

Are you sure you don't have last weeks tournament mixed up with this weeks. He did that last week durn a rain delay and when play started back he had John Gruden (yes TB's head coach) caddy for his remaining 7 holes.

I disagree. It does come back to maturity, if you have a disease like alcoholism if you are mature you must admit it and try to correct yourself.

Re: John Daly...what a mess

but who are we to say how john daly should live his life ? he's not concerned with being the best he can be, he just looks at golf as "his job" or better yet, his way of earning a living. he likes to throw back a few drinks and have a good time, all while earning pretty good money. the only reason he's not playing in this tournament is because he missed his tee time at the pro-am.
