The Official Thank You G-Will and Al Saunders thread
This may seem stupid to some, but I was very disappointed to see Saunders and Williams leave when I got home today and heard the news, and I know I'm late on this but w/e. I'd just like to say thank you to Saunders and Williams for everything they've done for the Redskins, Williams especially because he made this defense what it is today and he's made some very great draft picks that will be solid building blocks for the future. I've been hearing a lot of things about Williams lately, that he's been a part of the problem as much as Snyder was, but I wish him luck elsewhere along with Saunders. Mods I checked to see if there was a thread along these lines, but I didn't see any but just in case I'm wrong please merge.

I'll always root for GW. He was a huge part of me enjoying that first season with Gibbs back.

Good luck to them both (and Bill Lazor) wherever they end up

Wishing Greg and Al only the very best! A very special goodbye to GW I think he was ready for this HC job and got a raw deal. He will be hired quickly. Great days are ahead for GW. Our loss is another teams gain. Hope we don't play his next team anytime soon.

It's a nice thought. I never really warmed up to Saunders even though I tried, but GW embodies everything I like in football. I'm sure he's going to be successful somewhere else and I'm happy about that.

Seriously, though, I think I'll be a Williams fan for a long time, unless he goes to dallas and stomps us or something.

Al never really got it going here, but GW has put his heart into things, and I will miss him. An intense dude, no doubt. Good luck to him--he'll be a head coach yet, IMO.

Re: The Official Thank You G-Will and Al Saunders thread
I'll always be a GW fan b/c of the way he gets a D to play together. He gets the most out of the talent he has. I'm kinda scared what we might see next year w/out him here.
AS deserved better than this. I'm not saying that he should stay, as i think that is the decision of the new hc, but AS is a top 3 offensive coord in the league. I know we're all fans here and all but i've got to let it be known to those of you calling for AS head...our offense is not loaded w/ talent...it's got some talent but it's not as loaded w/ talent as alot of us think. AS needed more talent. |

Re: The Official Thank You G-Will and Al Saunders thread
I'm still throwing things about GW leaving. Al didn't really light a fire in me until Collins came in and showed what could be the future.
I still see no reason for GW to leave.

Re: The Official Thank You G-Will and Al Saunders thread
I never warmed to AS and couldn't care less. I do think there is more talent here than there was in KC (Dante Hall?) but I think it would be great in St Louis. As for GW, I really like him and the way he publicly handled the criticism of himself as well as the way players almost uniformly sing his praises (AA doesn't like him but who cares). I'm not a "second favorite team" kind of guy but I hope he wins every game not against us and will cheer loudly for his D.
