The total money in the deal is about the same as Taylers deal. But Windslow got about 3.5 Mill. more of signing bonus money. To a certain degree I can understand why Sean is a little pissed. But he should understand that he's gonna make his real cash in 6 years, and should make sure his play demands a mega deal then.

As much as I hate Winslow's actions, he's an amazing player. I easily prefer Sean Taylor over him, but god I wish we had both (minus the Postons)! 8)

taylor and no postons is win win for us... i have no doubts he's a bigger impact player for our coaching staff. KWII is a great ball catcher, and a good blocker... but gibbs rather have a great blocker.

I have a nagging suspicion that Sean Taylor and whoever is his agent in March 2005 will not be looking to wait 5 more years to get the next payday. Yes, he is under contract, but expect some contract harranguing in the off-season about a renegotiation and a little more guaranteed money.
And if - remember I said IF - the Postons beat out the Skins in the Arrington arbittration and get Arrington his extra $6.5M, do not be surprised if the Postons become Taylor's representatives. And by the way, even if Taylor lives out his 6 year deal here with nary a comma changed in the contract, how much more do you expect an NFL team to pay for a safety? Yes there will be some "inflation" in salaries as the cap increases in the NFL, but I'm not sure that safeties will command significantly more than an average cap number of $7M per year - adjusted for inflation. |

I was wondering where your soldier reference came from!
