Washington Redskins Pending Unrestricted Free Agents - 2008
Albright, Ethan
Brunell, Mark (via opt out) Caldwell, Reche Cartwright, Rock (via opt out) Collins, Todd DeMulling, Rick Fabini, Jason Frost, Derrick Godfrey, Randall Macklin, David McCardell, Keenan Prioleau, Pierson Pucillo, Mike Suisham, Shaun Got a little work to do here. Suisham and Frost, probably keep them because they're not terrible. Godfrey played well, I'd think you want him back. Prioleau is GW's boy, you need Albright as the long snapper, and then you gotta get Rock, Collins, and Caldwell back. Those three were all pretty key this past season.

Albright, Ethan-give him part ownership and build a Six Flags in his backyard. Plus let him host a revamped American Bandstand Brunell, Mark (via opt out)-I think this could be it for him Caldwell, Reche-hope he comes back, I think he will Cartwright, Rock (via opt out)-I think this might be the year we lose him Collins, Todd-back DeMulling, Rick-gone, then back, then gone, then back again, then gone... Fabini, Jason-gone (I think) Frost, Derrick-bring in some competition Godfrey, Randall-heard he's leaning toward retiring Macklin, David-gone McCardell, Keenan-could stay for vet min or retire Prioleau, Pierson-I think he returns Pucillo, Mike-gone Suisham, Shaun-bring in competition

Re: Washington Redskins Pending Unrestricted Free Agents - 2008
Albright, Ethan-One of the most underappreciated positions in the league. Plays 5-10 snaps a game but we need him.
Brunell, Mark (via opt out)- If he doesn't retire on his own then I wish him well somewhere else (who knows, Panthers let Vinny play again). Caldwell, Reche - Not a bad wr but it is a position that I'd like to upgrade. If he does come back he'll probably be cut in training camp. Cartwright, Rock (via opt out)- Great special teamer, but I think he'd like to go somewhere he can get some offensive playing time. He's as good as Betts but it's a crowded position here. Collins, Todd- resign him with a probable pay raise. DeMulling, Rick- bring him to camp but hopefully someone will beat him out of a job. Fabini, Jason - see DeMulling Frost, Derrick- resign Godfrey, Randall- probably retiring (again) but might be a midseason addition if needed. Macklin, David- couldn't make an AFL2 squad. See if he'll take Torrence with him. McCardell, Keenan- 1 more year? Hopefully. Prioleau, Pierson- Probably will be back but I hope only in a mentoring role. Pucillo, Mike- see DeMulling Suisham, Shaun- Is there any way for him to get deeper on Kickoffs? I really like him otherwise and would like to see him redeem himself at FedEx in the Championship game next year.

Brunell: He's gone. Caldwell: I would really like to keep him. Cartwright: I think he wants to stay. Hopefully he doesn't opt out. Collins: I would like to keep him, but I think he is going to leave. DeMulling: Gone. Fabini: Provides decent depth. Possibly a keeper. Frost: Keep, but needs competition. Godfrey: I would love for him to stay, but I think he is going to retire. Macklin: Based on his playing time this year, he's gone. McCardell: Love to keep him, but I think he's going to retire. Prioleau: GW is going to want to keep him due to the lack of depth at SAF Pucillo: Decent backup, he stays. Suisham: Definitely needs some competition. |

I don't think we should keep caldwell. He only ran 2 routes all year. You could see the seahawks jumping his routes. Hopefully we can upgrade that position with someone either really big or a speed burner. Caldwell is not a threat.
I know I'm in the minority when I say I would rather see McCardell back next year. |

IMO I think we could use another punter, not one unlike the Seattle punter from yesterday, he was quite effective!

Id like to keep fabini as a backup. I think with all the experience he has now with our team after starting all year he will provide good depth. some of you forget we still have randy thomas.

Suisham, Frost, Caldwell, Albright, and Collins should stay, and I don't think there's a chance in hell Gibbs lets Rock Cartwright go. That's one of his favorite players. Everyone else is highly replaceable.

Re: Washington Redskins Pending Unrestricted Free Agents - 2008
I hope you're right. I see Rock being similar to Brian Mitchell. Could probably do more elsewhere, but we really need him here. IMO, take Hester out of the NFC and he's a Pro Bowler.

I agree. Just wonder about Caldwell though. He looked good, but didn't get too many balls. |
