Sally Jenkins - not the antichrist?
washingtonpost.com
Did anyone read the Sally Jenkins article in the post this morning? As a whole, it was remarkably on point. Of course, she still can't write for crap and sticks her foot in her mouth, but I thought the article made some very good points.

Re: Sally Jenkins - not the antichrist?
Gotta give credit. It is about as decent an article as I can remember her writing.

She's bi-polar. I'd say the same for Wilbon, but he's just a condescending asshole.

Re: Sally Jenkins - not the antichrist?
Dang!!! I think I am going to cry. lol That was not Sally that wrote it though. It couldnt of been it was too nice. I was in a book store and saw where Sally recently wrote a football book about how it was started and how the Native Americans played it. It looked interesting but couldnt buy it because she wrote it.

Her article is about what a lot of us here are always preaching. If you throw Gibbs under the bus when things are going bad, it's only fair to give him the proper credit when we are winning.

Even Hitler liked dogs...
Seriously, this was a nice piece. Unfortunately, Sally has a tendency to exaggerate the circumstances of the team. When it's bad, it's horrible. When it's good, it's fantastic. Because the team is doing well but still dealing with such a negative event, there's a nice balance to the article.

Here is a similar book that I think digs a little deeper into the Carlisle and Army teams, and spends just a portion on their actual matchup. I just read it and it's awesome. Especially just learning about all the new innovations that Pop Warner came up with Amazon.com: Carlisle vs. Army: Jim Thorpe, Dwight Eisenhower, Pop Warner, and the Forgotten Story of Football's Greatest Battle: Books: Lars Anderson
