A message from Pedro Taylor
Redskins Insider
Got a text from Pedro Taylor, Sean's father, and the chief of police of Florida City, Florida. Chief Taylor gave a hugely inspirational and emotional speech to the team at Redskins Park after Sean was murdered, and his message to win their remaining games and somehow get to the playoffs has resonated greatly. Chief Taylor's assistant got a message to him - I am supposed to chat with Chief Taylor on the phone later today - and wanted to post it right away. I am working on the Monday Afternoon H-Back and scrambling out here - short week for the media schlubs, too - and will post that soon. Here's Chief Taylor's message for now: "I am so elated by the team's performance, and the Redskins organization as a whole has been so outstanding to me and my family. I'd just like to say, 'Go Redskins!' |

Re: A message from Pedro Taylor
If we were to win the superbowl, I hope that a ring would be presented to Sean's father. Not just as a memorial, but as evidence that even after his death, Sean's memory and spirit contributed to the team in leading them to a championship.

Re: A message from Pedro Taylor
I'm just thrilled that we can give Sean's family the gift of the playoffs in his honor. No one would have blamed us if we had packed it for the season after his death. Our resiliency in the face of all this adversity is really something to be proud of.

Re: A message from Pedro Taylor
We should contact JLC and have him pass the message to Pedro to come join the warpath, he could be our honorary member.

Re: A message from Pedro Taylor
I think honorary War Chief would certainly sound more dignified!
