Smoot for playing Burress tough all night and for deflecting at least one TD pass. Probably Portis deserves the ball, but just sticking up for Smoot after that unfortunate earlier thread.

How about Suisham getting some love for the 49 yarder in those conditions?

Re: Skins vs. Giants game balls

Honestly, for this game I don't want to give it to any superstars, I want to give a shared game ball to a few role players who made all the difference in the world.

Stephon Heyer, Reed Doughty, HB Blades, Fred Smoot and the offensive line.

Sure those aren't all just "role players" but those were the keys to the game.

Portis. He was running with great authority last night. I was kind of down on him this year, it seemed like he was tentative in getting to the hole throughout the season. But last night there was no indecision whatsoever, it was one cut and full speed for the most part. Makes me think that the earlier performances were more a result of the holes just not being there.

Wow, this really is a toss-up. I went with the offensive line. No one, I mean no one expected Heyer and Samuels to keep those ends off Collins for pretty much the entire game.

If I can't give it to Eli Manning's receivers, it goes to Smoot. He played Burress well, broke up some HUGE plays. Overall, Smoot has been HUGE over the last few weeks. He's playing lights out.

I've never seen a football move like that in my life. It was like curveballs all night.

I gave it to the O-line. They opened holes for CP and kept TC upright. IMO Portis got the spotlight for their great work. They get my game ball.

O line, especially Heyer & also some love for Fabini. Our run plays were not limited to the left side only.

Heyer always looks pretty good in pass blocking. We could have our future RT.

Re: Skins vs. Giants game balls

No love for Carter yet? I wish I saved my vote I guess. 10.5 sacks on the year and 4 forced fumbles. He's been a nice playmaker at DE and he's not the liability against the run that he was last year.

Re: Skins vs. Giants game balls

Has to be the O-line. Giving Collins time back there and opening the holes for Portis.

Seriously, if I hadn't started that other thread, would Smoot be on the list? The wind shut down almost all of the passing in the game.
