Let's all say a prayer for Heyer/Wade & Fabini
It looks like RT is a no go for Sunday night, so we're stuck w/ either Heyer/Wade & Fabini for our right side of the line. Strahan has to be pretty geeked up for this matchup as well as Umenora (sp not right). We'll have to help out w/ max protect on at least one side while leaving the other side one on one. I just can't see leaving Heyer one on one w/ Strahan. I imagine we'll see lots of quick outs, slants, screens, and any thing else to get the ball out of Collins hands.
Having two pass rushing studs is going to make it difficult for the skins unless we can somehow muster an effective run game. I know i'm stating the obvious but it deserves mentioning and our prayers this week. We need this one. Defense: Bring the house. |

Whoever they put at RT is going to need help all night long.
This is where you have to really miss Jansen. He always held his own against Strahan. |

Re: Let's all say a prayer for Heyer/Wade & Fabini
we could use their aggressive pass rushing scheme against them and run more off tackle runs at them, more draws, screens (as mentioned before) Al (if allowed to call his plays) should be able to come up with something to counter act those aggressive ends, generally the way that is stopped is running right at them, especially at Usi. I dont think he plays the run all that well.

Maybe the Big Koz will see some game time as well.
Slightly off-topic, but ever since the Sean Taylor tragedy when I see a thread title that starts with "Let's all say a prayer for..." I fear the absolute worst. Anyone else with me on that?

Re: Let's all say a prayer for Heyer/Wade & Fabini
I was hearing on 730 that Wade is still not practicing and that Heyer will get the start with Fabini at Guard. Does anyone know what the weather is supposed to be at game time? If it nasty out there I hope the Skins can get their running game on track. Plus Collins is pretty immobile as far as qb's go, so I hope Portis/Betts can get some yards. The thing that worries me is the Giants are 7th against the rush and 19th against the pass and will probably be loading the box to stop the run and dare Collins to beat them.

Re: Let's all say a prayer for Heyer/Wade & Fabini
For some reason, I have confidence that Saunders & Gibbs are putting together a game plan that will do what somebody mentioned earlier - use the g-men pass rush to get them to overpursue.
I think there will be a serious commitment to the running game & by the late 3rd quarter, we'll start to see some small holes. |

Re: Let's all say a prayer for Heyer/Wade & Fabini
Hopefully not changing the subject because we are talking about the Giants, but while Eli Manning is a decent enough QB, he does make mistakes, I think the Skins need some turnovers to win this game. In nasty weather this could happen on both sides and hopefully this is being preached to our guys in practice this week. Let's get some INTs and fumbles and not give up any.
