Mike Williams to the Titans
Titans sign former USC star WR Mike Williams
This is a great pick up for the Titans, he has a real shot at becoming an actual star there due to lack of realistic options. I think we all forget that he had 30 tds in 2 seasons at USC including 176 catches and 2579 rec yards. All that done in only 26 games. I am a little surprised we picked up Mix instead of the 6'5" Williams. Williams has a history of greatness.

Re: Mike Williams to the Titans
Unsure as to why he didn't succeed, but with a lot of WR's, they can be mega talented, but if you don't throw to them, they look horrible. It's all about opportunity.

Re: Mike Williams to the Titans
Didn't you just start a thread saying Calvin Johnson is a bust after like less than half a season? Now Mike Williams is going to be a star? I love it.

Mike Williams is a huge bust, but he has talent. He has not had opportunity though. Give him the opportunity and I bet he succeeds.

Re: Mike Williams to the Titans
Mike Williams is slow as molasses. Maybe he could pass as a tight end?

Re: Mike Williams to the Titans
Aside from below average speed, the big knock on Williams is a poor work ethic - perhaps reuniting with Norm Chow will wake him. That said, he failed in a pretty good situation in Detroit with Roy Williams drawing the toughest defenders.

Re: Mike Williams to the Titans
I wonder how cheap they got him for. I wouldnt have minded us picking him up to help us around the goal line.

Re: Mike Williams to the Titans
Lane Kiffin was his position coach at USC and recently his coach in Oakland--and he gave up on him. He also implied, I am paraphrasing here, that Williams lost his motivation after getting his fat contract from Detroit. A player without the passion to play is the kiss of death IMO...
