Why not Keenan McCardell?
Who really cares how old this guy is? I don't. It's all about production. He seems to get open and catches the ball when thrown to him. Oh yeah, and and he's cheap. So my question is why not next year too. The draft? We could draft a WR but it's hit or miss and often it takes awhile for them to get going. Why not KM?
I think teams go "young" too quickly when some guys can still produce. |

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
I've been a huge huge fan of KM since the 90s when he was tearing it up with...Mark Brunell!
But I'll admit to having mixed feelings about bringing him in. At the time of course, I thought Lloyd was going to have a turnaround season and Espy a breakout season. Neither was the case of course, and I'm thrilled to have KM on the team.

I thought it was a good idea all along. Our only mistake was not getting him in here in the off-season.

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
i was happy to see the position addressed, and hope we keep him around for a while... he's playing for little money and can be very productive still...

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
I'm really looking forward to seeing Mike Espy healthy next year, he should be good as a fifth wideout. McCardell has really impressed me as well, and I would bring him back next year if we don't get any wideouts in the draft.

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
I'm really glad that KM is getting a chance, hes making the most of it.
Hes always had really good hands and hes being very productive for us, as shown yesterday. He could become very important to our WR core in this 6 game playoff stretch.

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
I was all for bringing in KM from the start. He's still a very capable and productive vet. I would have no problems bringing him back again next year.

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
He's looking like a young first round pick out there these days. If he continues to play at this level I would think we'd be nuts to not bring him back.

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
He can get open, and can avoid defenders. He should stick around plus he seems to be a guy where the young guys can get some leadership and he certainly knows the game so he can teach the guys.

I'll jump on board the "keep him" wagon.

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
I was all for bringing him here, and am all for him staying. I dont mind our wr core next year to consist of:
1. Moss 2. Randel El 3. Thrash 4. Keenan McCardell But I have to say I am still of the opinion that we need a taller, stronger WR to compliment the speedsters we have, and it might as well be a young guy, so I wouldn't mind grabbing one in the draft if we can find a gem in the later rounds. |

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
McCardell has developed chemistry with Campbell surprisingly quickly. Unlike many, I'm fine with the receiving corps if we would only use them. Perhaps bring in a big WR late in the draft or as a modest FA pickup to challenge, but McCardell is a nice find, and certainly a good influence on the younger guys.

Re: Why not Keenan McCardell?
The skins top 2 wrs (Moss and Randle El) are small speedy guys, having a bigger, more physical receiver like McCardell adds a much needed dimension to the passing attack. I think the team has to keep him until that job is filled by a younger player.
